Lately I've seen quite a few good blog items that I've enjoyed reading. Nicely written, containing a littlebit of research, sometimes a few people get bashed. Just nice to read, funny and sometimes informative.

And then there are a few blogposts that are totally crap. Only composed of boring opinions, repeating the same subject for the fifth time, without any constructive information.

An example of a nice post is Sens' recent item about reflexes and the science behind it. It's something many people may find interesting to read.

The bad blogposts are mostly about how CoD4 players are noobs.

I don't play CoD4, I don't care about people that do play it, I don't care if they are good or not. And if you want to write about how bad they are, just... don't write it and instead play CoD4 and own everyone, so you don't need to make me scroll through an endless list of the same kind of posts.
While playing it you may actually find a nice sponsor and become rich. Go for it.

But well... These crap blogs seem to be a success-formula. I see nice posts getting few comments, while 'CoD4=noob' posts get 100x more attention. Apparently a lot of ClanBase members play CoD4, and feel insulted and just can't stop themselves from replying.

Insulting whole groups of people is always a guarantee for success if those people you insult can actually read about your genius observations. It's easy scoring, but I think these writers haven't reached their full potential yet.

Let's try to conceptualize the ultimate blog item for ClanBase with 12 million replies...

- It should just call every player a noob, from all games. That's a huge market for replies!
- It should state all gamers lack aim compared to... Let's say US Marines
- It should state all gamers lack tactics and strategic knowledge (you could compare them to chess player standards)
- You could state you tried playing a game yourself once, and just owned everyone easily
- Don't forget to relate to oldschool games. Bring forth arguments like 'Pacman > all'. Pacman might actually be a great game, but the intention is to make all players that never played these old games feel bad.

Maybe someone could come up with some more ideas. I don't think this post itself will be very succesful, it only insults a handful of writers.

In well writed blog usually comment mean something. In cod4 all players are noob blogs you could think that comment are something like this "NOOOOOOBS" See you point but in those cod4 blogs they discuss about game problems and players being ass in game bacause it have been made bossible. Writers dont write important stuff they write what peoples want read. And insulting in title takes readers attention.

Yeh I'm the author of this. It probably has to do with the audience. Mostly teenagers seeing themselves as gaming superstars. They just can't stand negative talk about them, so in the end the replyers are actually indeed the funniest of all. Maybe I should have a go at writing this ultimate flame blog item.
