uhm, this may not belong in here but i'll ask nevertheless:

well, i got a x2 dual core 3800+ and a geforce 7800. with this hardware UT is way too fast. when i set vsync on and play on opengl, then i only have ~50fps but with many short freeze moments in game. i tried many different ini's and driver but nothing worked yet. i think its because of the dual core, so has anyone a hint how to solve this problem?
thx in advance!

in the ut.ini file under section [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice]

Try adding a line that forces ur wanted refresh rate, i.e. your screens refreshrate when on win desktop
i.e. mine is:

RefreshRate=150
'cause my refreshrate is 150 and therefore i get 150 fps constantly in ut.

get it? gl <img src='http://games.clanbase.com/smiley6.gif' border='0' width='16' height='16' align=absbottom>

did u turn the variable core speed (cant remember name) to off in the BIOS? (ie the one that lowers ur multiplyer (or is it fsb) when pc is idle and then ramps it up when its under stress)

It needs to be turned off (least it did for me) as UT takes a "screenshot" of your core speed just before you load and once UT starts to load your core speed jumps up (as its stressed).

Could also be that 2 core thing and having to fool it as someone said below <img src='http://games.clanbase.com/smiley6.gif' border='0' width='16' height='16' align=absbottom>

Sound like you are using clone mode as your nView display setting, UT have a bug that that makes it use the TVout 50 refresh rate instead of your monitors refresh rate. Try altering to single mode and run UT again.

Btw UT like all other games, will only use one off your cores. Games that will benefit form dual cores X2 etc., will first be released in 06. Nevertheless If I was y I would change gfx driver aswell, the 81.94 are really good drivers for the 7x series.
