The group stage is now officially finished. Players still have 1 or 2 days to report the results of this matchweek.

The playoffs will be starting next week, so everyone is able to take a 1 week break.

After about three maps Allter could win this great match.

Not really an equal match but both players were willing to play it till the end.

Some players have been sending mails instead of posting their results on the cup forum. Here's a little guide on what is needed to make it easy for the admins to add the results.

TOPIC TITLE:
as topic title you enter something like Nickname vs nickname, be sure to use the nicknames as they are registered for this cup in case their Quake Live ID is different. This will avoid stupid mistakes.

NOSHOWS
A noshow can be claimed if your opponent isn't in the appointed IRC channel for your match. This IRC channel can be found in the roster page as soon as your challenge has been accepted or forced by an admin. If the opponent isn't present or responding till 10 MINUTES after the arranged time, you can claim a noshow by tanking a screenshot of the IRC channel. This is done by pressing the Prt Scr on your keyboard and then CTRL+V it into Paint.

A noshow claim without this proof will NOT be accepted by the admins.

The Eurocup qualifiers have been played, and the OpenCup groups have been made. This OpenCup will feature 464 players divided in to 10 divisions/leagues with each 8 groups of 6 players with the exception of the 1st division/league which has 8 groups of 4 players.

Players were sorted into divisions based on the personal rating they gave themselves when they signed up for this OpenCup. We, however tried to correct misleading ratings and balance groups as much as we could. Naturally with the cup this size some players might still be misplaced. Please note that players placed from league 7 to league 10 are virtually on the same skill level (close or similar rating) but had to be divided due to time constraints.

You can start challenging your opponents by clicking on Roster in the cup menu on the left and click on the Group which was assigned to you.

The First Matchweek starts on Monday, so be prepared

Your supervisors for this season will be revealed soon but in the mean time we're still looking for one Supervisor here.

Signups

Signups will be open on the 27th August and will remain open until the 13th September at 23:59 CET.

Rules

As in every cup the rules can be found under the rules section in your Cup menu to your left. Please make sure you read and understand the rules properly, if you have questions regarding the rules or if you see any mistakes in the rules then do not hesitate to contact a supervisor. It is best for everyone if any errors or misunderstandings can be dealt with before the cup instead of during the cup.

Admins

Every season we ask for dedicated admins to help out the supervisors with uploading screenshots and making matchreports. This season is no different so here we go, we are looking for people who can:

• Speak and have decent written English
• Write interesting matchreports, interviews or predictions
• Make well thought out and impartial decisions

Feel like you're up for the task, don't hesitate to sign up. Of course, you can also simply sign up to upload the screenshots of your own match, so you can make the cuppage a bit more interesting for all to see.
