Electronic Arts and
Crytek have released a new patch for Crysis Wars, bringing the multiplayer element of Crysis Warhead to v1.3. Additionally, the game will be free to play for ten days over the festive period.
As detailed
here, patch v1.3 brings two new maps to the game and fixes the loading of custom assets and downloaded maps. However, there are reports that players have experienced issues with PunkBuster since updating. These include being kicked from a game or unable to connect altogether. Further details and the solution can be found
here.
In addition to the patch, the developer also announced that the PC multiplayer will be free-to-play for 10 days, from 19 December until 29 December. Crysis Wars is the multiplayer half of Crysis Warhead, and normally requires a copy of Warhead to play.
All you have to do to play the game for free is go to
MyCrysis, download the game, register and use the uniquely generated key to join servers.
