| Interview with Oleg Yavorsky | |||
In a recent interview, Sergey Grigoryevich mentioned that a port for Shadow of Chernobyl already exists, and it works fine on Xbox 360. We'd like to know how soon will GSC release the Xbox 360 version? | ![]() Oleg Yavorsky
Oleg: We think that whatever port of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for Xbox 360 won't come out before the full release of the game's sequel.
As far as we know, Call of Pripyat is told to be a game exclusively for PC. Is there a chance that we could see it also on consoles, but later? If not, then how can you explain this?
Oleg: We haven't made a decision regarding this question yet. Explanation is that the team is working on development of the current game. At the moment, all are busy with preparing the PC version of the game. What comes after - we'll see.
Are there any plans for porting the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series to other consoles, such as PSP, DS or PlayStation 3?
Oleg: We have become a developer, not only for the Xbox 360, but also for the PlaySstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii. We've been also developing a prototype for the PSP, but currently there's not enough manpower to make our ambitions come true.
If the release of Shadow of Chernobyl for Xbox 360 turns out to be successful, do you plan to release downloadable content in the future?
Oleg: It's too early to say.
Which version of 'Call of Pripyat' will be shown on the coming play-test in Kiev?
Oleg: We'll present the latest version of the game. For now it's still not the final version (that's why there's a point to hold the play-test now), but you can already complete the game.
A few days ago a gamedesign studio "Marco Rosia" has announced that they're working on an ambitious project called S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Online, and they call it a commercial project. How can you comment this announcement? Do you have any agreements with this studio?
Oleg: I doubt very much that anyone can sell a product related to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe without the permission of GSC Game World. I'll check with our lawyers Whatever it's all about, I don't know anything about this studio nor its project.

In fact that sound like they are going to follow the whole crew making multi-platforms shit.. I'd be happy if they just start to port Shadow of Chernobyl to all these crappy consoles otherwise.. bye bye to the only hope I've had lately in a game company

Indeed, and I hope it stays that way. They are one of the last PC-game developers really. But i'm also getting a bit afraid of this sentence: "We have become a developer, not only for the Xbox 360, but also for the PlaySstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii." It could mean anything on the future really... :P
