The journey begins right here
The first release of Deadlock is online and available to all Spearheads and Frontliners. This release will be the platform and foundation on which we will release all future updates to Deadlock.
Version 0.1.0 includes, among other things, the first iteration of the 'Combat Range' map, networked multiplayer with cloud-based server hosting, a fully dynamic weather system, complete overhaul to the animation and character pipeline and - perhaps most important of all - support for Open Door Development.
Open Door Development
Open Door Development is our ambitious strategy to provide you with a warm home away from home and bring you constant unfiltered insight into the development of Interstellar Marines; from cleaning up network code to modeling new weapons and even more importantly, updating your Deadlock experience with new features, maps, weapons as well as tweaking and eliminating bugs based on your valuable feedback.
In that sense, the development of Deadlock will be unlike any previous slices we've released to date. Our goal for the near future is to reach a point where it is possible to update Deadlock with relatively small intervals and as often as every other week!
Silence before the storm - The journey of Open Door Development begins here!
Changing how games are made - together
"Thin and Tasty" and "No Loose Ends" are two mantras we live by here at ZPS. It has helped us prioritize our energy, establishing an extremely solid framework for further development. Reaching this initial Deadlock milestone is a really big deal to us and we're proud to finally be able to share it with you. We hope you're just as excited to be on this journey, as we are!
Although the initial Deadlock experience won't be publicly available right away, we promise that we're committed to developing ways of serving free tastes of what Deadlock is all about as soon as humanly possible.
