If you are wondering when can you upgrade your system to the latest Windows, the answer has finally arrived.

During their Worldwide Partner Conference this Monday, Microsoft announced Windows 8 goes to RTM during the first week of August and hits the shelves late October of this year.

If you decide to purchase a copy, you will be able to upgrade from Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Also, if you own a legal copy of said versions of Windows, you can copy the upgrade version of Windows 8 Pro for a bargain of $40.

These incentives suggest that Microsoft really really really wants you to upgrade.
