The first lab mouse that Valve intends to bring to the audience is Left for Dead 2. For now, they are in the process of optimising the game so everything runs as smoothly as it does on Windows.
Ubuntu was chosen because of its popularity, but the plan is to support multiple Linux distributions.
Be sure to follow the linux blog of Valve for more news as they become available.
