"From the press releases"... PlayStation offers Ultimate Gaming Internship
by: MadUSA
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has today revealed details of a search for PlayStation’s next intern – sure to be sought-after by anyone looking to gain experience in the gaming industry. The month-long position, hosted by Swedish Studio Tarsier, will be awarded to the applicant who can create the best minigame using upcoming PlayStation®Vita title, LittleBigPlanet™PlayStation®Vita.

Sackboy’s first PS Vita adventure was let loose on September 19th. Now that the game has launched, would-be interns will have almost a month to get to grips with the all-new minigame creation feature and submit their efforts for consideration. The competition ends at October 10th.

To test and review each entry PlayStation has assembled a crack team of portable gaming aficionados from across Europe. These PlayStation Judges will put each minigame through its paces before selecting a top five from each country. The final decision will then be handed over to the team at Tarsier – the studio behind LittleBigPlanet™PlayStation®Vita – to choose the overall winner. Submissions will be judged on gameplay, originality, and commercial appeal.

PlayStation has collaborated with Moleskine to create custom edition LittleBigPlanet notebooks. The top five finalists from each participating country will each receive one of these.

The overall winner will be flown to Sweden where they’ll spend one month working within the different departments of Tarsier, polishing their title from amateur excellence to a fully-fledged piece of official DLC.

Elliott Linger, Product Manager for LittleBigPlanet PlayStation Vita said: “Gaming is an exciting and fast-growing industry but it can be tricky to get your foot in the door. This internship offers a whole month’s experience at a great studio, all for creating an awesome minigame. We’re expecting hundreds of entries and can’t wait to see what players of LittleBigPlanet™PlayStation®Vita come up with.”

To enter would-be interns should head to LBP Internship, fill in a few details and include the unique LBP.me URL for their minigame. Applicants are advised to be inventive, PlayStation expects a ton of entries from the ultra-productive LittleBigPlanet community – make sure your minigame and application stand out!
