CoD2. The Last Stand.
The admins running the event with Qwerty-gaming, a newly founded, Czech based professional
e-sports organization are some of the community's mainstay, including familiar faces like d3do,
vioqor, marty and fooZar. Also contributing is the zPAM coder _z0d, whose devotion to the game
has been well documented over the past months. The idea for the tournament stems from d3do,
who is the leader of those five musketeers and it comes from a position of knowledge, that CoD2 is
slowly dying. With many top teams leaving the game in 2013, the general theme of this event is that
it is the final major international tournament in a game we all love so much. At the same time,
such a large event could even extend CoD2's life and we can all remain optimistic.
Date: Saturday, the 23rd of March, 2013, 8:00 – 21:00.
Location: District.Prague, a brand new state-of-the-art LAN arena.
The arena has a bar with an alcoholic permit alongside non-alcoholic beverages. There will also be
an area serving salads, sandwiches and similar appetizers. With food and drinks taken care of, the
teams waiting to play at some of the 50 top class PC's will also be able to relax in the console area,
that will house 4 Xbox consoles and a few Kinect enabled ones. An important aspect of this LAN
will be socializing and the venue fits the description perfectly, while the early end date will allow
for everyone to have a perfect after party.
The event can accommodate a maximum of 30 teams, with the minimum being 12. With the massive
amounts of interest already shown in the community, this event surely has great chances of being
one final highlight of CoD2. With the sign ups opening on the first day of 2013, we can only hope
a successful sign up phase will resonate through Europe and perhaps ease our collective monetary
problems during the year, so that the field of e-sports can breathe again.
With the sign up fee set at 250€ and the current value of hardware estimated in the region of 1500€,
the prizepot triggers are set at :
16 teams – prize money 2.000€ (50.000,- Kč) + hardware
1. place – 1.250€
2. place – 500€
3. place – 250€
20 teams – prize money 2.500€ (62.500,- Kč) + hardware
1. place – 1.600€
2. place – 600€
3. place – 300€
24 teams – prize money 3.000€ (75.000,- Kč) + hardware
1. place – 1.950€
2. place – 700€
3. place – 350€

We will not remove cod2 from CB, there are still a lot of players playing cod2.
"The last stand" means that some think that this will be the last big cod2 lan, lets hope its not. |
