Cup is over and winners are stored as can be seen below.

I want to say it was a pleasure running this cup, overall was very good without so many forfeits, although some were unavoidable.

Also I want to thank to Premonitioner and chulk who were great admins and support for this season and while Premonitioner became CB crew and will be working with us, I wish to see chulk again with us for the next season(s) :)

Congratulations to the winners and I hope to see all teams back again (and a new ones) for the Fall season or maybe in the Summer 2v2 season as well ;)

4Kings and iM had an exhausting way to the final. Nevertheless every participating player was fit and focused in winning this important match.

i.e. the italian for "The sky is blue over Berlin!", the popular sentence yelled by the italian soccer commentator some time ago...

... yes, four years ago Italy and France fought at the final of soccer World Cup.

It's matter of history repeating, so again yesterday we had an italian team versus a french team, fighting for the first place of the ClanBase Second League TDM.
And again, the battlefield was almost the same, as they chosen to fight in a server located in Germany.

Against the forecast, NK won over jb by a neat 3-0 (without the need of penalties, this time!).
The first map was a tough dm14 where in the end NK won by around 30 frags.
The second map dm6 saw a very good start of the italians who immediately took almost every hot zone of the map, then the french guys stopped real play and started to wait for the next, decisive map.
dm20 was chosen and again a double-t battle came: tight and tought! NK were able to take and keep a handful of frags until the end and so they finally got the match.

gg to both clans, who have been showing how TDM has to be played for the whole tournament.

schwach shown a neat supremacy versus aNk in the battle for Third League final. In the first map, dm6, schwach doubled the opponent. The second one, dm20, was much more equilibrate but again won with a good margin by the Germans.

Second League final is going to be a tough match between the two clans who did not loose any match until now: NK and JB. NK comes to the final after a good semifinal against t13, won by 2:0 : a dm6 with a discrete margin and a dm14 where eXp made the difference once again.

Another team was shot down by jb. This time it happens to rew. Only two strong maps were needed by the French to be the first finalist in Second League.

Since finals are played in Bo5 format and we have only 4 maps in the mappool (dm6, dm7, dm14, dm20), the selection goes like this:

Better seeded team first choose their map, and teams rotate in mappicks until all 4 maps are selected and played. In case 5th map is needed, team with most frags starts eliminating the same batch of maps until one map is left and that map will be played as 5th map.

After the Scandinavians lost both maps with just few frags against iM they finally won bronze because of Frontline's drop.

Cup continues 14 June 2010, so all matches should be challenged in this week, or will be forced at Sunday.

rew was the favorite for this quarter final but Iona isn't a weak opponent. So the Italians confirmed their strength and won first map. rew woke up and showed their ambitions on last two maps to be one of the last four teams in this league.

In the beginning it was obvious that this wouldn't be an easy match for both teams. But in the end only one czech team could advance to next round and it's called like their national community, Czech Quake.

The polish guys won a tight match against ashlen with a strong comeback. The Germans won the first dm14 with a good margin. Then second map was a dm14 again but this time t13 won, taking to the final dm6, where again they finalized their comeback by winning with a discrete margin.

lbp's last part this season was the match against LMind.

The schwach guys won with a firm 2-0 the German derby versus ashlen's second team.

The Italian Night Killers won with a clear 2-0 over Phenomenon. They now wait to know the next challenge: the winner of the other quarter-final between the german ashlen and the polish t13.
