And now we've come to the end of the UT Team Deathmatch OpenCup Spring 2011! In this season we saw the return of some recent cupwinners, the return of some famous oldies and even the return of some long forgotten oldies. Apart from a single fakenicking case, the cup went well, there were very few noshows and most games got played on schedule (barring the div1 final), for which we would like to thank all participating players.

Premier League

On to the final standings in the premier league; sas returned to the throne after one season of absence. They coasted their way to the final like they were never gone at all and in the final showdown they relegated last seasons winners to second place.
The 'new' team gram surprised many by doing an excellent job in the groupstage, even getting close to the favourites, but they didn't get their full potential in the playoffs, losing the match for third to JaLLa!



And congratulations go to sas^w)v for winning the Most Valuable Player vote!

Second League

In the second division it was FF13 who took the gold medal home, in the final they took revenge on d4s for the lost semi-final from previous season. Dj did well to reach third place, with v11 making a very strong first impression in this cup. TmNT got fourth; they seemed to have a strong lineup and a lot of potential, but in the end couldn't turn it into silverware.



Finally, we would like to thank all admins who took the time to enter some results and upload a few screenshots, your help is much appreciated. Also a thankyou to all clans and players for participating and creating another fun and friendly cup. We hope to see you all again next season!

In a three map final, sas prove to be stronger than finality...

And finally, we have our premier league cupfinal, which will also be the last game this season. In this match the winners of the previous two seasons, sas and finality, will play to be this seasons champion. Neither team has even lost a map so far in this cup, proving that they are both deserving of this spot, CBooky voters seem to be expecting a victory for sas, but the numbers aren't all that convincing just yet, some people perhaps think that sas won't be able to field their strongest four tonight.

As for the mapchoices, for either team trying to find a map their opponent is weak on will be difficult because of their opponent's lack of losses so far. Another point is that both teams seem to favour Mojo, which has become the cornerstone for many teams lately, but will they stick to their guns knowing their opponents take on it?

In a replay of their group B game, fR takes 2nd div 5th place..

It has been a while coming, but tonight gram and JaLLa are fighting for the first division bronze! Both teams lost in their group and the semifinal to the finalists, and judging by these games it might have been gram that gave the stronger, more stable, appearance. I'm inclined to say that gram have the upper hand in this game, but CBooky voters disagree; with €6.000 vs €1.000 it is clearly JaLLa that are their favourites tonight!

As for mapchoices, both teams have been looking strong and capable of winning any map this season, with some convincing victories during the groupstage. JaLLa might have the tougher hand picking their maps tonight, they are traditionally strong on open sniper-based maps, but gram are definitely not to be underestimated on those. gram can more comfortably choose from own strength as their team is all-round capable of posing a threat on any map.

FF13 win the gold in a very close final!

We may be starting the final round of playoffs early tonight, with d4s and FF13 fighting for second league gold.
