First level: CTF-Terra-LE102 (FF13 )
Some fun sorting out the maps, as people from nbf were unable to pm the admin! But we got there in the end. FF13 won the cointoss, and so we started off on nbf's map.

A very slow start to the game, with both teams being cautious and defence-minded. Both teams got a few grabs, but it took 8 minutes before someone reached mid! The run from kes was ended in his own base entrance by a monstereffort from phantaman. nbf now got a bit more offensive, and it paid off with knowz getting a flag into his own base, but FF13 got a nice save out. With 5 minutes left to play, it was banjo who finished off a run from Knowz and irony to make 1-0.

FF13 left their defence behind now, trying to find an equaliser, but instead it was Knowz who sneaked out 2 more caps while nbf defence was doing a great job.

Second level: CTF-Azcanize-LE102 (FF13 )
Another tentative start here, FF13 looking to not fall into the same trap as they did on the end of Terra, while nbf was searching for a way to keep 0-0 in a map that FF13 has dominated so far this cup. It took 5 minutes for people to get a flag across mid, and it resulted in a panicky stand-off. Gazz made the return for FF13 and kes capitalised!

FF13 got a bit more confident in attack now, and it resulted in them getting more flags out to mid. In a few minutes the score was 3-0, and after a short stand-off 4-0 was made too. nbf got back into controlling mid and the shieldbelt, but it made little difference to FF13 defenders who were keeping their base secured. Some funny moments then in the last minute as sl33per struggled to return a flag in mid, teleporting over it 4 times before FF13 picked it up and made the cap for 6-0!

Third level: CTF-VaultCity-LE101 (FF13 )
Another quick paced small map, the sort of thing FF13 excels on, but without Monk this would not be so easy tonight. nbf started off controlling mid and both teams had a good aggressive few minutes where the defenders were getting hammered. But with flagcarriers from both teams getting crowded in mid, there didn't seem a cap in sight. Through some miracle FF13 got a flag in though, carried by Humpty, Playful, kes, Gazz, Blaze and eventually capped by kes, it was a true team effort and a testament to the madness in midfield.

nbf started leaning back on their defense a bit more, making opportunities to cap scarcer, and it worked for them, as after a nice amprun from irony, it was phantaman that made the equaliser. FF13 was quickly back on top, with kes making a lucky 4hp remaining cap... Humpty scored another cap for FF13, and it looked like they would win this map.

nbf started pouring forward in the dying minutes of the game though, and it earned them a cap with 2 minutes remaining. With just 40 seconds on the clock it looked like another cap for nbf, they carried a flag home, and had just one FF13 player in base left to deal with. For a terrifying 15 seconds kes hid with nbf flag 'behind' the padsbox, facing into the flagroom, when Gazz made the important return. Now it was a race back to their own flag, with 4 covers waiting for FF13 in mid, there was little worry and a 4-2 victory!

Fourth level: CTF-AreaN23-LE103 (FF13 )
FF13 went for all out defense here, as a draw would suffice them and AreaN is far from their favourite map. nbf started pushing forward more and more early in the game though, leaving FF13's lone attackers some room to grab and run, usually getting to mid before being stopped by defenders that were waiting there. After 5 minutes Humpty broke through the mid-wall, scoring 1-0 for FF13. This was swiftly followed by two more caps from FF13 within the space of a minute, making maximal use of the confusion on nbf's side.

The Italians came out with a more defensive strategy after this, resulting in many grabs from both sides which were quickly stomped into the ground. It wasn't until 5 minutes remaining that another flag crossed mid, this time in the hands of Phantaman, who got slaughtered in his own armour by FF13's attack. nbf got the better of play from there on though, as they got some flags out into mid, but never into their own base.

With 1:20 left on the clock, nbf managed to get a flag into their base, but kes got a sneaky grab out and hid in the sniper corridor for an eternity. Just as phanta tried to swap the flag with luys, Gazz and Blaze showed up for a messy return, and much like Vault kes had a run into own base with 4 covers to make the 4-0!
