With pheno absolutely battered in their previous two matches, a win here would have kept hopes of qualifying out of the groups alive. The outfit of ulcerated made short work of a very understrength Stheno side on mp_burgundy the day before and were certainly hoping to extend their streak. Stheno lost yet another match, despite being billed as a top seed, however this was on the hands of Team Netherlands, picking up two of their players for the NationCup XV semifinal against Team Finland that very evening.

That is not to say pheno have not had their fair share of misfortune. With ps1ho in their plans for this season of EuroCup, pheno had been unable to establish contact with him since GBC finished. This prompted pheno to recently start advertising their search for a 5th shotgunner to complete their lineup on the tek-9 forums. Considering the impossibility of finding good full time shotguns goin on for years, neymar was brought to fill the numbers for pheno, where as markb had been the 5th in pheno's match against the Turks. As neymar isn't really a classical shotgunner, nor is he operating in a team he is familiar with, stellar performances obviously weren't expected.

On the other side of the scale, ulcerated were in no such trouble. Although they had spent the months before playing with mostly topur, KACPEROR (drunked) has plenty of experience fitting into this team. We can conclude the Polish lineup is very stable.

Pistol bash has been the way of settling sides for eons and ulcerated score an easy team ace, picking axis. During the extremely long wait for both teams to get ready, I filled our time with extremely important announcements! Fortunately Tune was well ahead of me in getting his players ready. I'm still awaiting feedback from our marvelous Head on the ideas guys!







KACPEROR gets a sneaky double at the beginning of the first round, with Tune eventually claiming the round for his team all the same. Following an extremely lax B push, pheno are up 2-0 already. None the wiser could have expected the epic systemic collapse to follow in the remainder of the game. The Poles respond by all getting a single frag and the momentum shifts completely. mARCOO drops a triple to tie things up, before pheno take their final round of the half at 3-2. What follows is mARCOO clutching an important 1v2 situation, before tying up the next round as well, making it 4-3. He relinquishes the spotlight to his teammates, with SPIKEWHO, Kzk and krzysiek in especially good form. It's 7-3 in no time and despite a most valiant effort from Tune, he can't finish the 1v3 clutch. Kzk drops iconz in a 1v1 in the last round of the half, showcasing how 1v1's usually decide the match. As the half ends 9-3 in ulcerated's favour, we examine the scores of individual players.







Not to be too harsh to a player in an unfamiliar environment, neymar provided nothing to the team effort and is perhaps not the solution to pheno's problem. Tune putting in a good effort, nevertheless could not stop the good display of the Polish team. The ready up is immediate, and the next three rounds fall to ulcerated fastly. With the score at 11-3, looking like 12-3, some banter was predestined to happen.







We all understand what heat of the moment is like and the pressure on display in EC and obviously won't be punishing anyone, which is why I edited out all the nasty parts! I still hope this serves as a warning for top behaviour to other teams. Smashval does get an excellent double in the next round, fears of his sudden demise obviously exaggerated. The Poles get the bomb down in the final round of the game and have no problems finishing off the match, with all of them on pretty equally well off scores, even forming the exceedingly rare countdown.
