And so the ninth season of the oldest cup around comes to an end. Obviously I would have wished a smoother final but I guess we've been shown it's still part of online gaming that things dont always go the way you want. Either way, we have a new champion and that's Iron Fist!

Iron Fist came out second of group B (only losing to PZZ) and made their way to the final beating the Swedish Clan HeadZ (3-2) and the French Against All Authority (3-1). In the final they picked up the gold beating former Swedish champions iCE cLIMBERS by 3 to 1 maps. Congratulations to Iron Fist!

And so we come to the final words. Thanks to all the people who made this EuroCup and it's coverage possible; especially to the crew of Splatter-TV (prion and his friends) and Radio iTG (djWHEAT, trillian and lun). Also a special thanks to The_Stranger who also shoutcasted some matches and adminned loads. Same goes for lucky by the way; he adminned just 2 matches less.

The Q3DM EuroCup IX semi final between Against All Authority and Iron Fist is scheduled to be played tonight at 20:00 CET. Shoutcast will be available; trillian and possibly djWHEAT will be on the mic, commentating on the second semi final.

Tonight at 20:00 CET, the first Semi final will take place between the winners of last season and Paniek Zaaiende Zigeuners. I wrote a preview, have fun.

Both of the semi finals have been scheduled (one had to be forced) and now it's only a matter of waiting. Both semi finals feature the #1 ranked team vs. the #2 ranked team from the other group and on top of that, all 4 semi finalists are from a different nation. We can only conclude the wait should be more than worth it. Obviously GTV will be available for both matches and we hope to have shoutcast available as well.

Tue 25th of May 20:00 CET: PZZ vs. ic
Sun 30th of May 20:00 CET: aAa vs. iron

As you might expect, #EuroCup.q3 will be the channel to join for GTV info, scorebots and the likes. Both matches are played as a 'best of 5' which means the clan who manages to win 3 maps, gets a spot in the final.

Because most matches get played in the weekend, I decided to move the scheduling deadline a bit earlier. This gives clans the chance to agree on either one of the 2 available weekends. All clans are or will be notified that upcoming Friday is the scheduling deadline and that they preferably should contact eachother on IRC and notify me on the date. The playing deadline is Monday the 31st of May.

So you can expect semi finals to be played either this or next weekend. Ofcourse, if clans wish to play during the week that's also still an option. Either way, to the clans; start scheduling. To the rest; start betting again!

This early classic matchup was voted upon the most, by far, as most popular game of the quarter finals. Have a look inside what the match was like.

The date was agreed to by both aAa and aCtion. The only party showing up however was aAa. No word from aCtion so this match ends in a forfeit win - which is pretty shitty because aCtion assured me to be playing (Moscow could have taken their place).

The number one of group B: Paniek Zaaiende Zigeuners versus the Swedish Clan FOE, who finished 4th in group A, in a nice 4 map long lasting match.

Each of the four playoff matches has been scheduled. Be it agreed by the clans themselves or be it forced to a date by myself. The first playoff match will be PZZ vs. FOE and it will be Thursday at 21:00 CET this match kicks off.
