As another season has come to an end, the UT CTF Open Cup Spring 2005 seemed to bring enjoyment, excitement, flaming and some
very hard fought games! This season see's some familiar names amongst the scene topping the list, while it also shows that
TDM teams CAN play CTF!
Congratulations to all these teams, especially the division winners, I suspect you can look forward to some harder matches
next season. Thanks also must go out to all the active admins this season, especially to the top 5 by activity,
apoca!ypse,
DipshiT,
Areonos,
Triad-X and
B-one. 2 of these admins were also in the 5 most active last year, so it's nice to see some new faces
appearing! Thanks also go to the people who provided extra coverage for the cup with Interviews, Predictions, ShoutCAST and
UTV, the World would be a much more boring place without you.
I would like to thank the co-supervisors that have put so much time and effort into making this cup a success. First of all
to
Warchild who helped start the cup, and had it not been for unforseen circumstances, would have done his
best to make this cup a sucess.
Secondly I'd like to thank
Ginga_Ninja for stepping in to help when
Warchild wasn't
around for the first few weeks.
Lastly and most importantly, I'd like to personally thank
BADMF who joined during the cup which
isn't easy from my own experience, but supervising the cup was second nature to him. He has done an exceptional job, and his
level of commitment and dedication to making this cup a success has been admirable. I'm sure you will see him for many cups
yet.
This has been my second Cup as a Supervisor on ClanBase, but the first without a Supervisor to guide me. I have found
Supervising the cup at times hard, but enjoyable, and as well as being a learning experience! I'm sure you'll see a lot more from myself and my Co-Supervisor in the
coming seasons.
Lastly, but by no means leastly, the awards for the top 3 clans in each division have now been entered and you'll get your
icons (if you get them). There has been no news yet on a Summer Cup, but for those going on holiday, have a great time and
hopefully we'll see you for the Fall 2005 Cup!
