So here we are, the final was played, the winner was decided and with this the EuroCup XI Q3-CTF comes to its end.

Results:

  1. Clan FOE (500 Euro won)
  2. Gunzoids.CTF (300 Euro won)
  3. Eyeballers (200 Euro won)
For me personally it was a nice season and as always I have spent as much time and dedication for this Cup as I could. Nobody is perfect, but I think afterall we did quite a good job. Ofcourse we had to stand some flames, but I guess that just happens at this level of competition. I aswell received a lot of "thumbs up" for the work we did, so that justifies the time we are spending on this I think.
Quite sad that I had to switch the co-sup two times, but right now I am very happy that the decision finally fell on hybbe. I am aswell happy to have breeze back as a newsriter, too. Last but not least I want to thank Marlik for all the work he did ofcourse.

In general I want to thank all clans that participated in this EuroCup for making supervising this cup a lot of fun and a real pleasure (at least most of the time). Special thanks fly out to the active cupadmins we had. Without them this EuroCup would not have been possible for sure. On the coverage-side of things, big thanks go out to Splatter-TV for providing quality GTV`s for all matches in this cup (whenever punkbuster allowed it). Our friend Lun of Radio-ITG added a lot of additional appeal to the top-matches in this cup and we are very happy that he did that.

So that`s it for now, I hope to be back again with another EuroCup Q3-CTF in the Fall-Season. Until then, don`t hesitate to spend some time of the summer with us in the SummerCup 4v4 CTF!

For more than a week not much happend (except background challenging going back and forth), for more than a week many have been waiting for the proceedings in this EuroCup. Here comes the eagerly awaited info on the EuroCup XI Q3-CTF Grand Final!

The Schedule:
First leg: Tuesday, 28th of June, 20:30 CET
(Second leg if needed: Tuesday, 5th of July, 20:30 CET)

The Modus:
The Grand Final will be played in "2-leg-modus". This means, that the clan coming from the winnersbracket ( FOE) needs to win one match of "first to 5 matchpoints" (2 pts per mapwin, 1 pt per maptie) to win the EuroCup-Final and take 1st spot.
The clan coming from the losersbracket ( Gzd) has to win two matches of "first to 5 matchpoints" to win the EuroCup-Final. This means, that if Gzd wins the first leg on the coming Tuesday, another second leg has to be played (see schedule above).

The Money:

  • 500 Euro for the winning clan
  • 300 Euro for the runners-up
  • 200 Euro for the third-placed clan (already decided: Eye)

The Coverage:
Hybbe is preparing a preview for the Grand Final which will most likely be online on late Sunday. For the lovers of less "serious" coverage, the second part of the EuroCup-parody by breeze will be online very soon, too.
GTV will surely be available, Shoutcast is still undecided but very likely.

The CBooky:
Mister C. Booky has set up the odds for the final, too. You can place your bets on the Grand Final over here!

Until this Grand Final kicks of, feel free to sign your clan up for some summer-fragging in the fun-focussed Q3 CTF 4v4 SummerCup!

As the scheduling for the Grand-Final of this EuroCup is still "in the makes", we announced the ClanBase Quake 3 CTF 4v4 SummerCup today!

As the name already tells, it will feature 4v4 gameplay instead of our regular 5v5 style.
The SummerCups have always been meant to be less serious and more fun-oriented than the regular Spring- and FallCups (EuroCups and OpenCups) that ClanBase offers, so this cup features a slightly off-standard maplist.
As we are thinking about completely moving to 4v4 gameplay for the coming regular Q3CTF cups, the quality of this SummerCup will surely influence our decision. You can find the cuppage with a lot of additional info on the rules and the maplist of the cup over here!

The link to register your clan for the cup can also be found on the page of the ClanBase Quake 3 CTF 4v4 SummerCup!

I decided it might be enjoyable for you guys if someone did a writeup about the EuroCup season so far – summarised and satrising the events that have passed. Evidently I decided that I should do it. First of all I’ll go through clan by clan describing their season – starting with the clans that did not make the playoffs then the playoff teams and so on. Then I’ll probably break into sub-categories so I can insult ANAKiN a bit more.

This is part one featuring the teams that didn’t make the playoffs. Part two will follow soon.

Have a look inside if u dare (there are scary pictures =//)

Note:
ALL IMAGES WERE FOUND BY SEARCHING FOR THE CLANS/PLAYERS NAME IN GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH OK?

You can expect a preview for this match and ofcourse GTV and hopefully Shoutcast will be available for your entertainment.

The next step in this EuroCup is the Loserbracket-Final. To speed things up a little bit and to stay in line with the other "online-only" EuroCups, we will make the scheduling-period a short one this time.

This match has to be scheduled before 23:59 CET on this week`s Wednesday, 1st of June which is the deadline. We will force the match on Thursday, 2nd of June. Just wanted to let you know that I got a new email address for you to reach me.

I got assigned my own "official" ClanBase address, so from now on you can reach me at: erazor@clanbase.com

Usually clicking the email icon on the left side menu should be sufficient as you can reach both Hybbe and me that way. The icon is linked to both our email addresses.

Yesterday the first official Quake4 Video Trailer was released on the E3. As it is hard to find download links for the HI-RES-Version (640x480) of the trailer, I have decided to host it at WeirdSkill.de!

You can download the the trailer over here. (Download closed due to overtraffic)

Additional download-mirrors for the HIRES-Version over here!

Please keep in mind that this trailer only shows scenes of the singleplayer-part of the game. ID and Raven are aiming for a Q3-like multiplayer part (faster movement than in SP, rocketjumps etc.). You can read what Tim Willits of ID says about the multiplayer physics and movement over here which is quite an interesting piece of information. According to this, Quake4 could really end up being a fun multiplayer game!

Update:
You can get a new (better) Version of the trailer with normal colors (no blue blood) over here! (38,5mb, 2min, Quicktime)

Here I am with the next try for a new EC co-supervisor:

hybbe is the new co-supervisor for this EuroCup (and hopefully for further cupseasons)!

After the (sad!) letdown that the former co-supervisor was, hybbe hopefully puts more time and dedication into ClanBase and this EuroCup.

For about a week now already, the Q3A CTF OpenCup Spring 2005 is over!

After MaRlik and me had started the cup, the 2 new supervisors nofear and carillo took over nicely to bring the cup to a good ending.

You can get all the info on the Q3A CTF OpenCup Spring 2005 Season and the winners and placings of the clans in all divisions over here!

Concerning the EuroCup, the playoff-tree will soon be updated and I`m going to write a seperate news for it.

EYE win the Swedish derby and advance

by: erazor & nofear - Comments (4)
Tonight we have one match in the EuroCup.

Losers-Bracket 2nd Round:
21:00 Eyeballers vs. Neutralizerz - Admin: nofear

GTV: hunter.splatterworld.de
Cast: probably none

erazor`s prediction: EYE 6 : 2 nEu

nofear`s prediction: EYE 6 : 4 nEu

Looking at the results of both clans, EYE will clearly start as favourites. nEu failed to deliver versus topclans like Clan FOE & S? & medusa, whilst EYE only took a defeat against Gunzoids.CTF in the Playoffs.

It is up to nEu to put a great performance against a very strong EYE. Predications are on EYE in this Swedish derby, with one Dutch bastard. It will probably be a narrow win for EYE but we have had suprises before in this cup.
