All of the quarter finals (aside from one) have now been played, so the winning clans can go ahead and schedule their matches for the semi final.

The playoff trees have been updated and all semi final matches apart from MXS vs mi5/p have been created and can now be arranged. The MXS match will be created as soon as I know the winner of the mi5 vs platinum match. They have until the end of Friday the 19th of January to play the match.

After that date if the match hasn't been played then we'll have to do something else to decide a winner, coin toss, naked dance off, mini golf or mud wrestle. IT WILL BE DECIDED!

As you can see over in the lovely menu blocks on the right hand side of your browser, the playoff trees have been created.
The first week of the playoffs will be from the 7th - 14th of January, so please feel free to begin scheduling your matches between those dates.

During the playoffs there will be a cointoss before each match, the winner of the cointoss will decide the maps to be used for BR and DDOM. The loser of the toss will decide the CTF and TAM maps.

The maps that can be chosen from are all the maps that were played during the groupstages, these maps can be found in a matchweek menu block on the right hand side of the main cup page.

If after the 4 maps each clan has won 2, a fifth map will be played.
The fifth map and gametype will be decided using a cointoss by an admin (if no admin is present please come and get me from #ut2004.quad ), the winner of the cointoss will pick the first gametype to be eliminated, the loser will pick the second and so on until one gametype remains.

The map will be decided in the same way, another cointoss will be done and the winner will eliminate the first map and the loser the second, until only one map remains. Any maps that have already been played in the war will automatically be eliminated.

So get scheduling those matches and good luck!

Okay, so the match weeks for the group stages have come to an end, with some really exciting games having been played, some forfeits, some thrashings, some whines, some server issues, lots of alcohol and immense amounts of fun!

However, before the playoffs can get underway, all remaining games need to be played to finalise the group standings.

If you have any information as to the status of these games let me know, whether they've been wildcarded, played, rescheduled or just forgotten about. E-mail screens if you have them, and provide me with dates for any games that have been re-arranged.

All remaining games must be accounted for by**!!UPDATE**!!UPDATE THE DATE HAS CHANGED**!! midnight on the 17th of December, any games that I have no information about by that date will result in 4-4 draws for those matches.

With the Open Cup season already in full flow, and Christmas being a very busy period for all clans, I won't go ahead with the playoff stages until the beginning of January of 2007, so until then have a very Happy Christmas and see you next year for the playoffs of this cup!
