The first match of this tournament was IC vs p1mps. Ironically enough, the final match was also IC vs p1mps. Even though p1mps won the first matchwith 3 maps to 1, the scores on the maps were pretty close, so anything can happen in this final showdown. Who will take the golden cup home to Sweden, and who will have to make due with second place...

Both clans were kicked to the losers bracket by p1mps. Only one of these 2 clans get to face the p1mps again, but now at the top of the ClanBase mountain; the EuroCup 5 Final!!

After having beaten unr, rG is now facing the winner of the game between p1mp and esu/IC, the Swedish p1mp's.

First loser bracket match, UNR (having lost from rG) faces IC (who lost to p1mps), this will decide who will already leave the tournament, and who will get a second chance to get to the finals. Even though the match started later than scheduled, both clans are tried hard to make sure they got that second chance.

Even though rG won the first two maps, it turned out to be a full fivemapper in the end!

p1mps, having to play without panicore now, as he joined IC again, had to play without one of their main lineup players. IC became second on CPL and LA7, so maybe this will be their chance to prove they belong on the first place instead of second.

XSReality interviewed Nutcase after the p1mps' surprise victory over Vikings in last Saturday's EuroCup V 1/4 final. An interesting bit of news for p1mp fans is that Panicore, who was absent in that match, will be playing for them at the LAN finals (13-14 July, official announcement soon).

Unreal make the EuroCup LAN finals for the second consecutive time as their opponents in the 1/4 finals, mTw, do not have an active Q3DM team anymore. mTw's players are taking a break from gaming and plan to return to play UT2003 as soon as that is released.

Many people have asked what's going to happen with clan p1mp's EuroCup V playoff match. As you probably know Prozac and Tech recently left for QPO, leaving p1mp (called 2e in its current incarnation) with only 3 active members: Nutcase, Panicore and Fox. They actually have a fourth, former Dunno player Fazz, but since he completed the group phase with Dunno there is no way we can let him play for another clan this season. So what is going to happen? We don't know yet, but there are three possibilities:

1. p1mp convinces Xorgal, Prozac or Tech to finish EC5 with them. Xorgal is inactive but he was a p1mp member at the start of the season so he would automatically be allowed to play. The same goes for Prozac and Tech since they didn't play any matches with another clan after leaving p1mp. According to the remaining p1mps this solution was very unlikely but maybe after yesterday's match it isn't anymore.
2. p1mp finds a new member who hasn't completed the group phase of the current EuroCup/Open Cup season with another clan or hasn't participated in it at all. We will then consider making an exception and allowing that player to play. Another necessary condition for such an exception is that the new member may certainly not make the clan stronger than it was before, but when the members you have to replace are of the calibre of Prozac and Tech, that will hardly be a problem.
3. p1mp forfeits their 1/4 final against Vikings.
