EuroCup VI - Q3 DM

It all started in the last week of September with 24 clans from 14 different nations. Ofcourse not everything went like we hoped to, especially the absence of LAN finals was a dissapointment for everyone. But great matches, like EYE-ic with djWHEAT's commentary, being followed by around 600 people, made this season another success.
It all ended last Friday, when EYE won the final vs aAa with a clean 3-0. Congratulations to EYE, they are the winners of the Q3DM EuroCup 6!

The final ranking.
  1. Eyeballers
  2. Against All Authority
  3. iCE cLIMBERS / Demonic Core
There was a admin and GTV for about every game, the cuppage is filled with reports and demos, thus we can conclude the admins did a great job! Thanks to the following people who helped with GTV and adminning:
Smegma, griml0ck, rmIon, blacky, HADEx, 0Skills, hoshi, Back2lip, deus, forever, SLAyEr, eri, kazuyama, Hannes, Slay, Megro, Cyanid, toltcabolt and RiGHT.

And last, but certainly not least, I'd like to thank the shoutcasters who did a great job shoutcasting the games; they made the matches even better!
Ofcourse we had djWHEAT from the Team Sportscast Network, who shoutcasted games like the 1/2 final EYE-ic. But dont forget the guys from Barrysworld, like The_Stranger, who shoutcasted aAa-DC by coaching DC on voicecom. And ofcourse bigfoot, who shoutcasted the final.

See you all next season!

In the final of the Open Cup of last season EYE lost to UK clan GzD. In EuroCup 6 and GnR EYE only played Scandi teams. But where they ready to face Euro-teamplay?

EYE faced aAa, who, after 4 seasons, finally made it to the final. They where looking strong, until, just before the match, C@stro had to go to the hospital with hearth problems...

The 6th season of the ClanBase Q3DM EuroCup is coming to an end: the 2 clans who will be playing the final are known, a moment has been set and djWHEAT is clearing his voice.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the final of the Q3DM EuroCup 6!

In the Euro corner we have Against All Authority. They had a pretty tough groupstage: 2 losses and 3 victories made them finish 2nd of their group. But after a hard groupstage they conquered their place in the final fairly easy by beating PZZ (3-1), pRo (3-0) and DC (3-0) in the playoffs. And thus, with only 1 maploss in 3 playoff matches, aAa finally makes it to the final of the EuroCup.

In the Scandi corner we have Eyeballers. After a nice 2nd place in the Open Cup last season, the reformed EYE returned to the EuroCup. Since they finished at a nice and clean (without losing a map) first place in their group, they only had to play 2 playoff matches to place themselves for the final. After quite an easy match vs Wutai (3-0), EYE had to play ic for a place in the final. And what a match it was, after 5 long maps vs ic, EYE placed themselves for the final of the EuroCup 6!

The match will be played tomorrow around 19.00 CET.
Against All Authority vs Eyeballers

The channel to be is #EuroCup.q3 like always. GTV and shoutcast by djWHEAT of the Team Sportscast Network will be there for sure!

Update: The final has been postponed; the new date is Friday 27 December, at 20.00 CET. Both of the teams will be lanned up and most likely this is going to be a game with low pings for both teams.

Around 700 people in #eurocup.q3, djWHEAT with his great shoutcast and lots of people wanting to provide GTV. All this and 8 skilled players with very low pings on 1 server.

It was like the EuroCup LAN finals, but the maxclients 12 setting on the server (allowing 8 players, 2 coaches, djWHEAT and 1 GTV) reminded us of the fact we where playing online. But the match was great, as expected!

First EYE was having problems to field a team, now it was ic's turn. After a lot of queries both finally seemed to have agreed on Sunday 18.00 CET. This time, it really is the final date, no more postponing!

This match should be THE match to spectate; we'll have GTV and TsN|djWHEAT shoutcasting!

For a few seasons we hosted the Benelux cup, but the Benelux scene got to small and thus we decided to replace the cup.
The signups for the GS.net Q3DM Cup are open until the 8th of December. In this new hosted cup, all matches will be played at one server and the winner will get 2 nice prizes. For more info, visit the cuppage.

Nobody would have dared betting on aAa winning in only 3 maps, last two were really close and could have gone both ways, but la moule was with the frenchies!

Since a few clans are having problems to play their match this week, I decided to add another week to the 2nd round of the playoffs. The schedule now looks like this:
  • Round 1: 11 Nov - 17 Nov
  • Round 2: 18 Nov - 1 Dec
  • Round 3: 2 Dec - 8 Dec
  • The final: 9 Dec - 15 Dec
Each clan is given a fair chance to schedule their match but it should be done by tomorrow midnight; if I still havent got a date and time by then, Ill have to force the matches on a random date. Good luck!
