After whet was a very nice EuroCup with allot of good teams and exciting matches the final has been played at last. After scheduling it to be played at CC5 it was postponed due to unforeseen delays in the LAN schedule we had to delay it a bit. Never the less we got it done and now have a deserved winner. ButtonBashers did an excellent job and did not lose a single game in this EC and only losing 1 map. Also congratulations on second place to team mamut.si and third place to k1ck.

Due to unforeseen circumstances at CC5 the EuroCup final has been delayed. We hope to get the game played tomorrow in between some of the LAN games. I am currently unaware of when exactly this will be. Keep up to date with the schedule on crossfire.

I am proud to announce that we have reached the last stage of the Enemy Territory EuroCup XVIII. Two teams which have both proven themselves in the past have made it to this point and will now fight it out in one epic game, or at least so we hope. ButtonBashers will be facing off against team mamut.si on Saturday the 13th of December.

Yes people, this does mean they will be playing the final at the Crossfire Challenge in Enshede, The Netherlands. Due to the particular good timing of the LAN event the ET organizing Crew, Adacore and Anaconda, have agreed to give us some time to play this match at this event. There will be ample coverage at the event itself and if we are lucky ClanBase will get some extra video coverage in as well.

I would like to thank Adacore and Anaconda as well as Tosspot From Crossfire.nu for this great opportunity.

Dear readers,

Due to some problem on supply reported by various players we have decided to replace the supply mapscript. This will mean the entire config-set will need to be updated on all servers that have previously uploaded our latest version.

You might have noticed which problem we are talking about as it was a fix for the satchel bug near the crane controls. this had a nasty side effect however that we did not notice earlier in making it unable to move into a part of that area. With our new mapscript, also used by GA, this function has been removed. This means all previous fixes to supply will work except for the satchel fix. The use of the satchel bug was not allowed to start with anyway and is easy to prove abuse of. Therefore we think it's a better solution then making it hard on teams to move around in that specific area.

While we were at it we have also changed the mapround time for sp_delivery_te to 12 minutes in the 3on3 and 2on2 config. It seemed to have been forgotten in the previous release.

The updated configs can be downloaded here.

ClanBase is proud to announce the release of a new set of configs today.

The main reason of this release is to fix some exploits of Enemy Territory servers. It includes the latest LUA module provided by the ETPro team.
We have noticed an increase number of players using some inadequate net settings and scripts to cause lag or simulate packet loss, thus we have decided to fix the net settings for all the players.
We are also including the new map hashes and scripts to fix some minor bugs and avoid some exploits.

Last but not least, I want to give a special thanks to reyalP, Spu, Killerboy, Bartichello, Eim, Overdrive, mortis, DerSaidin and many others for their suggestions and support to make this config available.

You can download the configs here: Official ClanBase ET server config pack

Important Note:

This set of config are the official release from ClanBase Enemy Territory and must be used in all matches. All servers to be used for any match at ClanBase must be updated with this configs. All old configs are deprecated and must not be used anymore.

Any match not using this config after Nov 20th, 2008 will be cancelled.

Press Read More to see a detailed list of the changes.

After FatGames.ET missed there Intro Back into the ET scene against Cortana and The last resort is going smooth, what will this match bring? Will FatGames.ET go to the playoff rounds after a confident victory over TAG or will they drop away against TLR and let Cortana take there second place and let them go to the playoffs ? ClanBase interviewed both teams and also asked the team members from their opponents in this group for their opinions as to how the game might develop.

Can I ask you some questions about your upcoming game versus TLR this Sunday?
    Sure

Well you have a tough game on Sunday against TLR. How do you fancy your chances of winning that game?
I think it goes without saying that we go into the game massive underdogs, we got off to a rough start against Cortana and since then we have been practicing hard and every day the team improves that being said I think the TLR game will be just a few weeks too soon.

Have you done any special preparation ?
No, we are not at the stage where we devise tactics for individual teams :) At the moment we are just concentrating on getting the team as prepared as possible for whatever might happen and then try to take some maps off TLR, if we can take it to a decider then maybe its a coinflip, who knows.

If you win you will end up second in the group. How will that affect the team and also your chances in the play-off stage?
I think its depends on the scoreline whether we place 2nd or not, 1st i think is still possible, either way if we just manage to qualify i think thats a massive moral boost to the team, if we can get to the group stages I am confident we will continue to improve and it will be great preparations for the team for LAN since that is our ultimate goal. If you look at the players most of them perform best at LAN and thats what the team was built for.

Prediction for the match against TLR ?
Well the obvious score is 4:0 TLR but hey who knows. We have the players to beat them 4:0 if we can get it right on the night so we will see.

Ok that's it. Thank you for your time and good luck on Sunday.
    Cheers

The Last Resort: TLR|dAv1d

Can I ask you some questions about your upcoming game versus TFG this Sunday?
    sure

Well you have a tough game on Sunday against TFG. How do you fancy your chances of winning that game,if you see they are playing better then there first match?
Well I think we prepared pretty well and we are certainly ready for this match. It will be a though game but I suppose we will take this. Decider will come up but we will take it 4-2.

Have you done any special preparation ?
We pracced more lately so thats our preparation plus the teamwork is feeling pretty good at the moment.

If you lose you could end second in the group. How will that affect the team and also your chances in the play-off stage?
Hmmm good question, think it wont affect the team at all. We will see :> We know we can perform well under pressure.

Can you single out a player form TFG who you think will give you the biggest problem?
I guess that would be snoop for his aiming and toxic for his overall gameplay.

Ok, Thank you for your time and good luck on Sunday.

Some opinions from community/opponents members:

I asked some people what they think about the chances for the teams in this match and a prediction of the score:

abort{: I think chances of taking a win are almost equal. Eventhough TLR have alot of more experience praccing together, FatGames has a really strong lineup which might do the trick (and never underestimate toxic!). I am not sure how prepared TLR are and how much they practice, but I do know FatGames has been praccing a lot which has probably gave them a little boost. I'd say 4-2 for FatGames.

[8B]-humM3L: Well it will be a hard game if butchji & mAus playing 4-2 for TLR. But I hope that toxic & co can handle it to bring the victory home and reach the playoff's.

[CB]Bartichello: TLR will win , the way FG is playing now I don't see them having a chance against a tealm as strong as TLR so 4-0 TLR

MUnduS: I think its going to be very hard for FG. TLR performed very well last matches. FG got a loss against Cortana. If they wont increase their level, their mission is nearly not solvable.

[8B]-Jere|FiF: I guess this one should be quite easy for TLR. I didn't see any strong performance by FatGames yet, so for me they are just another highskilled players mixed together, but I hope they will surprise me and will show me their teamplay ;)

k1ck-GuNnEr: I don't think FatGames will win this one . TLR is stronger on paper and got more teamplay. FatGames started to pracc more since 2 weeks but I dont think it will be enough to beat TLR ,so I guess it will be a 4:0 for TLR.
