So 3rd place isn't really great for a team like jF but if you think that they could go a cup without a medal then they'll probably really want to get 3rd. You really have to ask yourself why jF didn't do it this time. They lost scinner and spectar and didn't practice quite as much as usual, but practice never really was their thing, they'd lose a huge percent of them and end up all taking Negev on casa. Maybe why it isn't their best map. Or maybe its because jorum is more hittable now compared to his no kevlar style he used to use in the past. Mauri to is hittable but with his xp and aim it doesn't affect his fragging. (p.s. wolv and panne are still ghosts). And when their top fraggers don't provide, the tactics seem to be set so the supporting players aren't in a position to pick up the slack. Servers to can be a problem for jF it seems, with a lot of their team used to playing with lan ping in pub and pracy, 5-10 ping, then in an offi theyhead to a german server, like the SG final last year where they weren't at their best. This became so apparent that they invested in a .de server. Mauri is back on his computer and owning in mixes yesterday which will make it super tough for Vz, even more so since wolv and holden have been active the last couple of days as well. Vz who have had an amazing cup run, punching way above their weight, using good teamplay and Ryu's tactics to get a possible medal in their first cup. If they can get 5 today that is, which is a pitty if they can't. It seems that Ryu has dragged them kicking and screaming though this cup all the way to a bronze match. He's stayed active all the way, getting them a lot of 5v5s pre-cup and even when his team mates seemed less bothered with a 3rd place match, he managed to get 3v3s. I kinda feel sorry for him. Who knows what would be possible for Vz if they were all as motivated as Ryu. Ok it'll be Casa prague am sure, and jF should walk over Vz. Even if they have another bad frag day in the cup. But who knows. If there is a game there will be GTV. (if) | |

Pre-cup I talked to some people about ideas, I wanted to force a different set of maps every week. Most thought this was way too hardcore and even forcing any would suck. The time came and when week 3 started with no forced maps, people said it was a pity because they were enjoying it. So hopefully people will look back at this new big final and think it was pretty cool as well. It's best of five matches, all five maps forced and played in the order set out: desolate, casa, austria, turnpike, prague. First up is desolate, I wanted to get more exposure for 3rd party maps and at the time of testing this seems the best, after seeing all the teams play it I know it plays well, but with all the boxes it is very easy to camp it up, I asked if they would like me to see if thingley could have been swapped in since camp on thingley is much harder, with its open spawns and easily nadeable areas... but they didn't want it added :p At first I thought it could be a puff map, I know Chrille likes it, but with nades and sick aim being so important here I think QA can make it very close, but puff have the finals experience and could out smart them on this map.Next is casa, which will be a real battle, puff won't move in while the game is tight, market will be dominated by QA and Magnesium's sr8. Puff will probably cover market from bridge and old, standing at the back with auto not showing. M0rtalwill be covering bridge where he might be dueling vs M3MPHIS there, in practice he mostly won theses 1v1 but with GTV and a lot of people watching maybe veteran M3MPHIS will show is battle hardened nerves and come out on top, which could change the whole out come casa. Narrow though is normally covered by bLk and his lr, his head aim is nice but vs Chrille's sr8, it should be useless and puff should have narrow won most of casa. Depending on the level of camp and how calm QA are when facing it. I give this one to QA. Next is austria, A map that should be played way more than it is. Both spawns are open and can be attacked. There's a few places on the map for sniper duels and since QA have 3 possible snipers to puff's 1 QA have an advantage there.  MTZ!, r0viZ and M3MPHIS can all rush but they're probably out of practice at doing so. All in all QA have the advantage here.Turnpike, we've all been on GTV, read the flame report wathced the demo and bought the 'puff spawn camp tp' t-shirt. I don't see a way for QA to break down their spawn camp here, even with their wh nades. puff will take turnpike. Prague, puff have played this map a few times and do well on it, but QA beat Vz on it so it seems they have the tactics for here down. It's doubtful it will even come down to the epic 5th map, but what if it does, nerves, tiredness. You only need 1 sniper here and you can cover spawns quite easy, moving in is tough. puff have the tools to win this map, but with 4 maps before this one will they be tired? flaming each other? who knows. But if it does go to a last map, I'd give it to puff. DataTron ( M0rtal's dad) mentioned how with QA in both finals they look like the next powerhouse in UrT, like TK or how puff used to be. Now personally I think that's bullshit, only beating a bad banana team on the way to the final, BUT being truly 'leet' is about repeats, if QA want to be legendary then this is the way to start and it would be amazing. puff want to get back to legendary status and QA are looking for it, all will be on the line tomorrow.
Will we get 3 fast maps, or an epic 5 map showdown, who knows am just hoping for some great moments, some 1v3 wins, nice sniping, interesting tactics. I think this will be a final to remember! Kisses from qu and pg. | |

QA- The best, least tactical team, take on ]Vz[ the lowest seeded yet most tactical team in the semis.
Team leader Magnesium said on IRC he had something special ready for Vz, which I hope isn't the jeep spawn camp they've been doing in every turnpike pracy for the last week or 2. Maybe they have special tactics for Vz's now famous home map prague or maybe they have a top secret new home map themselves.
Will Vz continue to use prague, or maybe they'll pop up with another surprising map, I know they were pissed to find out I didn't put sanc in the list. :) SuTaFFu as we all know is a total Merchant Banker, and hurt himself this week playing with himself, hopefully he will man up and actually play, or he goes on my list! His sr8 will be needed to combat all the potental snipers QA could show.This game is in QA's hands they have the more skilled players, but so did ESCN and they used totally the wrong tactics and now Vz won't have the advantage of flying under the radar, everyone knows they're a threat. What maps, how fast or slow will they play. Often in map wins the game turns into a staring competition, who will blink first. Will you start to move first when you are 3 rounds down, or will you wait it out? That and maps will determine the winner today. Am off now, but I leave admin lokie in charge, he will ref take demos for the report and he will sort GTV, so watch z0r bot for the spam. M3MPHIS didn't move on he tried to keep them alive by using the puff name to take players from other teams, the team ended up with a random mix and match of players, such as the piriwalker brothers.puff never climbed back to the top, this season marks puff's first chance in a few cup to show the domination they once had, but can leader M3MPHIS pull the team together and get their tactics working?It's basically impossible to guess banana's lineup,  Pechnet will no doubt be there, quentin to am sure,  iRule aka pl00ri with his level 80 paladin will likely not turn up. Maybe we'll get the .de side of the clan, or maybe CTF guys filling in, who knows, it is definitely sad to see what has come of banan with the high hopes they had pre-cup. A team like; irule, hokka, shn, pnet, quent, lee would be a handful for anyone, but it will never happen. The cup started for banana when irule's real life friends from Austria called on him to start the next campaign for banana. So he left puff and they started to practice, pretty soon irule was left alone in banana having to quickly add players from anywhere he could find to make the cup dream stay alive, he took on many German players (as we all know Germany and Austria are secretly the same country), players like L1e who have great aim but are more famous for never actually playing anymore and leaving clans high and dry in the 11th hour. But rebuild they did, Germans, Austrians, CTF players and the Italians from dttk still looking for a team found themselves here. But no sooner had irule been left by his real life Austrian friends then he himself also left his team, starting his love affair with World of Walking again, soon he even stopped mixing with his irc 'friends' then took it to the next level of not even joining irc anymore. Asked for an interview on the history of banana he answered "Talk to Quentin". Theses are indeed dark times for banana.The only light that shines at the end of the tunnel for banana is the fact that puff are the only team in the playoffs with team spirit as bad as theirs. Map wise, we could see banana pick Austria (no pun intended) but it's been so long since I've seen them practice I have no idea. I play for puff and don't know what our home map is. Depending on how confused the team is as to how mem wants us to play, or to what 5 are playing at that time, we can win or drop a map to anyone. K so there's some history for you, some quotes, now you know banana suck and might not have 5 and you also know puff doesn't get on and has no idea what tactics will be played or who their first 5 will be. But in the end, puff with their overall skill level will take banana in 2 maps easily no matter what :< | |
