EuroCup XIX - ET SW

After an exciting double bout EuroCup Final we finally know the winner of the 10th edition of the Enemy Territory EuroCup since EuroCup IX. In 2 games the Finnish team Afterlife ET was able to overcome the Overload.SNB and take the gold. It took a long consecutive way for the winners to end here after being in the lower brackets since the second week of play-offs because of being put there by ButtonBashers. They managed to reload their roster, started winning streak which did not end, winning in the lower bracket finals by the way and putting the former champions on third place to finish the podium.

Well that's it For EuroCup XIX and we hope to see everyone again on the next edition.

On behalf of myself, Bartichello, I would like to thank mUnduS and Homer and wish them the best for the future as I will not be back for another season after this. I enjoyed doing these 4 last EuroCups but recent work pressure and social life are making it harder for me to continue and by this way I'd like to say goodbye to everyone that has helped out on those 4 seasons and anyone that has enjoyed playing them as well. Also many thanks to DoneX and Killerboy. Your dedication to this game is far superior to my own. I will stay on until replacements have been found to take over my ladder tasks after which I will resign.

Have a nice summer!

Not per so for the amazing games but a tenth edition of the EuroCup for Enemy Territory should be celebrated properly. Both games put everything on the line for this one as both teams picked Bremen_B2 and the second map, sw_goldrush_te, had to be decided by elimination.

Team Celsus has progressed to semifinals of Upper Bracket already. I've caught one of its key players to have a chat. Here's Ati_ "The Random Rifle".

The first match is called, 8Bits / FiF *Green* versus Overload.SNB. After the CC6 both teams facing each other again. So 8Bits / FiF *Green* got their chance for a revenge. But it will be hard again. Overload.SNB is performing very well during the last months.
So tune in for an intense fight for a spot in the Upper Bracket Semifinal.

Afterlife ET have to fight the titleholder ButtonBashers. So a tight match is incoming. The expectancy about ButtonBashers is nothing else like, winning the title again. But better not misprize Afterlife ET. The Fins are strong as well. Their 2nd place in Group B wan't perilled at all.
Will there be a suprise? We must wait till sunday.

Authentic-Gaming got probably the hardest fight upcoming. To beat H2k-Gaming is a heavy task to solve. But having a look on the CC6, it's not impossible. It is totally clear who is the favorite for this match. Although this prefix isn't denoting the winner from the outset.
Sunday we will see what the underdog can arrange.

For the first week we have a somewhat special situation with CC6 so for this match week we will only use 2 calendar weeks to get all games played. this means matches should be schedualed between April 27th and May 10th.
Due to the time this cup has to end this is the only time matches will stretch over more then 1 week. All other matches must be played within their respective match weeks.

As for maps, I'm sure everyone that has played any kind of ClanBase cup play-off stage will know you can now select your own map from the maplist. Your map must be announced to the supervisor or referee at the latest 30 minutes before the starting time on irc. Read up on the rules to know more.

Start arranging your games now via the roster!

We are happy to announce the return of the “EuroCup Weekly” show starring our very own DJ Ins0mnia and DJ Nex. During this show you can expect live coverage of all the EuroCups that are hosted this Spring Season XIX together with some nice interviews with key community players or representatives from the scene. All of this is widely mixed into each other by playing some of your requested songs.

EuroCup season is on it's way. Groupstage matches are being played. While 2nd matchweek is still in progress, I have caught a Flying Dutchman from Overload.SNB - perfo. Have a seat and check his answers on my questions.

As of next week ClanBase will be using a different set of server configs for all of our matches in both ladders and cups. We are very happy to announce that we have come to an agreement with ESL and Crossfire about this and thus it will be a global config. We used to have a global config several seasons ago as well but some differences in opinion led to each league adopting their own set causing arguments in some teams to why everything was different between one cup compared to another league. This will now come to an end and we hope that the community can find themselves somewhat in these new settings.

Below you will be able to read about the changes between our old config set and the new global config set.

For 6on6 and 5on5
  • MG 42 has been disabled completely

    For 1on1
  • 2 new mapscripts added for the 1 on 1 maps

    global changes
  • cg_autoaction IN 2 - 7
  • new lua files added

These configs can be used from now on and by the start of the next matchweek, Monday April the 6th, the old configs can not be used anymore. If any match is still played with the old config the result will be canceled and the match will have to be replayed.

Download the Global Server configs from our ftp.

As you can see the groups have been publicized. As usual with the EuroCup the matches are prescheduled but can be moved if you warn us( mUnduS AND Bartichello) at least 48 hours before the original match time.

For week 1 the maps to be played are sp_delivery_te and sw_goldrush_te. For the following weeks you can check the roster.

As for the allowed players list. The APL has been auto generated yestreday. Anyone not on the list will not be allowed to play. This does not automatically mean that everyone that is on the list is allowed. be sure to read the rules regarding players having played a qualifier match or having played any other match prior to an EC game. The APL for the Open Cup and the EuroCup count for both cups. If you played with a division 1 team in Week 1 you can not play EC until at least Week 3. If you played EC at any point passed the Qualifiers you are not allowed to play OC, and so on. Read up on the rules here.

Al that's left to say is good luck to all participants and have fun.

After a nearly two week wait the qualifiers have ended. You can review the results can be checked vie the roster.

I'd like to first congratulate all the winners for attaining their spot. I wish you the best of luck in the EuroCup.

Second of all I'd like to ask the teams that didn't make it to mail their intentions of playing in the Open Cup to Donex, andyF1 and Killerboy . They need to know whether or not to include you in the groups.

Third of all the groups shall be announced shortly. We hope to have them up by Wednesday so the teams have enough time to prepare the maps for the first match week which starts next Monday the 30th of March.

The last thing I'd like to inform you about is as always players that competed in the qualifiers have to abide by the rules about playing for another team. If you have won the qualifier you can not play for another team for 3 weeks. this means the regular group stage of the EuroCup you are bound to the team you have qualified with. For the losing qualifier players this is limited to 1 week after which you can join another team no lower then premier devision. During this 1 week you can not have played with any team as described in the Allowed player rules.

    Regards Bartichello And mUnduS.
