Match:Details
Score:4 - 2
Levels:area22, sewer, salvage
NL beats Germany
by: Mixo
GER were not able to go on with their winning streak and were defeated by sneaky NED.

First level: Area22
The Dutch team began as Stroggs. Their strategy was pretty common : they first took the GDF forward spawn then 7ele managed to plant his bomb and Germans weren’t able to disarm it as Stroggs took place in the objective room to protect it. Then they didn’t take long to complete the second objective, again in an ordinary way. 13:05 were remaining when Wastestuff finished the construction. RuFiO was able to arm his bomb two minutes later, and German engineers got lot of trouble to disarm it, but Sporty managed to save his team at the very last second. After some failed rushes, Team NL finally managed to kill all defenders and Lukos planted his bomb. As they were able to prepare themselves to defend the bomb at any costs, this time Germans failed to disarm it and a time to beat of 14:05 was set.

Germany did a pretty good defence and now had a comfortable time to beat their opponent. They took less than two minutes to complete the first objective, using same tactics than their opponent did before. The build of the second objective wasn’t a problem either, and Germans had 10 minutes to conclude. As their teamplay was pretty strong, only one bomb was needed and Germany was leading 2 to 0 at that moment.

Second level: Sewer
Germans began as attackers and once again decided to use an old-school strategy. After a few minutes fight, they took the upper hand and completed the first objective while 16:30 were remaining. HEADi then planted his bomb two minutes later, German team play was once again smooth and efficient. Then they took place in the last objective room, but defenders secured GDF forward spawn at the same moment and no cover ops were in the place. While Germany took back their forward spawn, Stroggs were able to kill all enemies and secure the last objective room. After some failed rushes, they blew the upper backdoor and did a great rush which allowed them to hack the objective with two cover ops. A time to beat of 12:30 was set.

As attackers, Team NL decided to try a 5-engi-rush : all of them came into an Armadillo, which rushed the barricade. They all jumped outside, and run to the objective. One or two died, but the operation was a success : they managed to complete the objective in a single rush and 11:00 were remaining. Less than two minutes later, Team NL managed to plant one bomb at each sewer entrance. Germans did not panic and managed to disarm both. Then they continued defending well, capturing back GDF’s forward spawn and preventing any bomb plant. Waste tried to destroy North Gate at the 05:00 mark, but once again defenders disarmed it. Next rush was the good one, as they finally managed to set up a dual plant, and both entrances blew. They got three minutes to finish the map and didn’t fail to achieve their goal : as Germans could not take control of the place, two covers ops were able to hack the objective, and a decider map had to be played.

Third level: Salvage
Both teams eliminated maps and Salvage was the last remaining. I personally hoped that the first attacker would be able to set a time to beat and avoid a boring fullhold at last objective. Thanks to ETQWPro adjustments and mostly German teamplay, my wish was fulfilled. But let me tell you the story. Sporty managed to plant a bomb pretty quickly, and once again his mates were in place to defend it without any trouble, 17:10 were remaining. They struggled a few minutes to complete the next objective : Dutch players were well organised and deadly in their duels. Headi finally completed the job when 10:15 were remaining. Defenders didn’t last long at the forward spawn and Germans were able to secure it in 90 seconds, thx to some nice infiltrator teleport use. Once again, one bomb was enough for Germany, and mikeX finally set a time to beat of 17:05.

Will Dutch army be able to do better than their opponent ? I thought not, but I was wrong. Everything went well for them at the beginning : several bombs were planted at the same moment and first objective was destroyed in three minutes. The second objective was barely built in one rush, attackers had 13 minutes to finish the map. Smartly, Rufio climbed the left hill and tried to ninja plant. Although he met some enemies just before entering the main building, he managed to reach the last objective and planted his bomb. Then Germany did a risky tactic : only Headi respawned as an engineer near the objective, followed by a snipern while his mates were still covering the forward spawn. He tried to defuse the bomb, but a few scrambled grenades were thrown to him, so he had to stop defusing for a while. When he came back to his job, it was too late : the bomb exploded on his face and Germany lost the match.

Conclusion
Nice and tense match, although the outcome was pretty unexpected. I would like to thank real`ct3n for providing an ETQWTV.
Good luck to The Netherlands for the Semifinals.
