Probably the most one sided game of this Sunday.
Finland is clearly the favorite for this match. The
Finns didn’t have a hard match so far and in all likely hood this won’t be one either.
Austria was there first opponent in the Playoffs and they toke the victory with 4-0. The groupstage wasn’t a struggle for
Finland either, they haven’t lost a map so far. The
Finns are clearly aiming for the first place in NationsCup and they do have good cards for that. In the recent Crossfire Draft Cup 5 out of 6 players participated under the name
Team Matias and took the golden pocal home.
The first game of
France in the playoffs was versus
Norway it ended up with a score of 4-2 in favor of
France. This is the second map they lost in this season, the other map was versus
Canada. So far they won everything with the two struggles mentioned above. Hopefully the power of the great individuals in team
France like
Karnaj will deliver and give
Finland a hard time but it probably won’t be enough.
Some more numbers: The GTV odds for this game is at the moment of writing 1.02 for
the Finns versus 47.77 For
France.
Finland ended up being the second most favored team for this season of NationsCup with 19.3%(273 votes) closely behind
Germany who won the poll with 20.9%(293 votes)
The next round for the winner of this match will be versus either
Germany or
The United Kingdom. And the loser will continue playing the lower bracket versus either
Austria or
Norway.
Players to watch:
Finland: If supply is going to be played make sure to spectate twidi and you will surely know how to plant mines after that game. I don’t have to introduce a name like squall he will surely deliver and is worth watching.
France: An7ho will surely pick up the frags with his rifle stick and karnaj will surely show you how to play as an aggressive medic, he managed to deal 21.6K damage in his previous match versus Norway.

Germany got off with an easy game in the first round by winning
Iceland 4-0. That game didn’t offer much excitement to the spectators as it was more like a
phyZiC vs Germany show and there’s a limitation as to how much difference one man can make in a 6on6 game.
The United Kingdom on the other hand had some surprising struggles against
Sweden. They started off with a promising fullhold on goldrush, but took over 12 minutes to attack it. After that they lost clearly on missile and had some trouble in the beginning of supply as well, but managed to turn it around for their advantage.
In a pre-NC poll
Germany (296 votes) was voted the number one favourite to win the tournament where as
UK only got 100 votes and was ranked 6th in the poll. UK how ever have been on of the most active teams playing with the same 6 players on a regular basis and have clearly been the toughest team to beat on practice matches from my own experience. Despite the poll I would say that both teams are definitely clear winner candidates and this should be a spectacular game. Both teams have a good mix of new talent and experience on their side and don’t have too many weaknesses.
Players to watch:
Germany: butchji. Butchji just recently started playing ET again and was voted the MVP of Crossfire Draft Tournament by far ahead of such players as Night, XyLoS and Squall. Even after his period of inactivity he still is one of the best aimers in the game and has been performing really well in the past NC games.
UK: Baggiez. Proving that not only medics and rifles are worth the player to watch mention, Baggiez currently is one of the best active smg engineers. Smart play combined with a decent aim results in loads of damage, specially when he is playing on defence.

Iceland had a pretty interesting group stage as they were surprisingly able to win a map against
Estonia, but had some trouble against
Portugal in their last and crucial game for the 2nd playoffs spot.
Iceland managed to win it after a decider and made it to the playoffs to face
Germany in the first round, which was pretty much a massacre for them.
Sweden’s group stage went the expected way despite losing a map against
Turkey.
Belgium was way too strong for them to beat, but they beat the others and finished 2nd. In playoffs
Sweden put up a really surprising performance against
UK and even had their chances to win the game, but lost it 2-4.
Iceland is the clear underdog in this match and if
Sweden can continue their good playoff performance it should be a really one-sided game.
Iceland relies way too much on their star player
phyZiC where as
Sweden has a really strong team of 6 players and doesen’t lack in aiming power either presenting players like
NuggaN and
jonas.
Iceland might have their chances to win a map with the a correct map choice if they have prepared properly and
phyZiC is on form, but that’s about it.
Players to watch:
Iceland: phyZiC. Sorry guys, but I just can’t really mention anyone else here! phyZiC is the carrying force of Iceland and all the others follow far behind. In the Nations Cup team he is playing even more rambo role than usual as he is forced to try and decide the games.
Sweden: Nuggan also known as the headshot wonder, he will surely give Iceland a hard time. Great movement and insane aim, pure pleasure.

Belgium showed really good form in the group stage not losing a single round, but then their team faced some pretty big changes as some of their players went inactive. Against
Croatia in the first playoff game the weakened lineup wasn’t convincing at all in their 4-2 victory.
Estonia had an expected group stage and they moved on to playoffs to face
Hungary. Hungary didn’t stand much of a chance and
Estonia’s strenght is still yet to be tested in the tournament.
Before the tournament most would’ve predicted
Belgium to win this game and well, I guess many still do.
Belgium’s lineup was looking absolutely perfect on paper before the tournament, but their last game’s lineup was very far from the original one (AL1, chry, fostruM, Gifted, Jere and Player).
Estonia has been practicing quite a lot together and have a really united team with excellent individual players lead by one of the all-time best players,
Night. This should be a really exciting game and it’ll be interesting to see how
Belgium will be able to perform with their renewed lineup.
Players to watch:
Belgium: With the absence of ET top player mAus, I would point chry or Jere as key players. Chry is definitely considered as one of the best engis at the moment, he will do all the dirty work combined with great aim and spam. Though, Jere is a riflemachine, he gonna help his team with lots of multikills.
Estonia:Night, I don’t think I have to add anything here, not introduction needed for this guy. Subbi is a great player as well he’s aim awesome, he is going to pick up the frags versus the Belgiums.

The Netherlands started their playoffs run with a routine victory over
Canada.
NL still was possibly saving their best maps for the further rounds picking missile as their map, even though they were looking really strong on it so who knows if it will be their pick in the future as well.
Poland faced their neighbor country
Czech in their previous game and were able to win it clearly 4-0 after some struggle in the first round (setting a 12:10 time in sw_goldrush).
Poland’s map choice was goldrush so they won’t be able to select it again on this match.
The Netherlands and
Poland both have won the NationsCup in the past and have had some great results. This year both of their lineups are missing some of the great names like
perfo and
M1lk from NL and
kot and
wiesiek from PL. Especially
NL are presenting quite a few new comers this year to play their first NC season. Both teams have had a pretty easy run in the tournament so far, but those times are behind and from now on every game is going to be a really though one, which is why
PL might have a slight advantage having a more experienced lineup. The advantage of having new players how ever is that both teams have the most active players featured and they’re hungry for the gold. This game should be really interesting to watch as both teams have great individuals on their side and the outcome is really difficult to predict.
Players to watch:
The Netherlands: xPERIA. Medics with aggressive playing style and loads of damage are always interesting to watch. xPERIA can either be the hero by getting the important frags or one of the reasons for a loss if he isn’t helping his team enough. Some people have also been accusing him of using lagscripts and/or netlimiter so that might be one of the hottest topics to discuss on ETTV chat once again.
Poland: zMk. Perhaps the best active rifle from Eastern Europe. Deals a lot of damage and is a key player specially in maps like goldrush. He also is one of the more experienced players in this game and certainly won’t freeze on the deciding moments.
