Hmm I must say you have a good point(s) Xtermi. So my apologies if I trashtalked too much but in all fairness it wasn't me who brought Portugal up in this.

It has also become very clear that team Germany just doesn't know how the cup (playoffs) works. Hence they got "annoyed" and started to flame us and act retarted througout the first 30 minutes. For some unknown reason they brought Portugal in this conversation :P

I think you're right on the skill thing, but as usual you talk with what looks like some silly "hate" of Portugal, mentioning us for absolutely no reason, so people get mad. It's obvious that just like your best players left, ours did too. I mean, i played 3 wars this NC (because lumus wants mah dick) and i'm not even half as good as those guys in Alliance used to be, for example, or others back then.

A small truth is, back when those guys were here, they had no chance to play "fair matches" with decent pings, you look at NC V when .be won (germany noshowed), PT played BE in the groups, and they put up a decent fight (15-9) despite the ping disadvantage, who knows what the score would have been if equal pings were possible, or what place they would have finished if they were in a different group, Greece ended up 3rd that year, thanks to Noshows, i guess that makes them "skilled", or it shows how shit the game was.

The point being, skill isn't the only defining factor in a game, not even close, and while it's extremely likely Portugal never had the skill to finish top 3\4 even if they could play proper low-ping wars, since the NC used to have Sweden, the NL team that won a couple times, the very strong Finland, etc (which are all gone now, or playing with inactive players or whoever's left), maybe the PT guys weren't as bad as you make it sound, they just never had a fair chance, you look at the NC's following V and u see PT playing wars in 100% Spanish server, where both teams have 100 ping (NL vs PT for example), because a super-lag war was the only way to have a fair ping match.

Not because we're the best but because Portugal never made it to the top 3 in a NC. Doing so now would either mean you guys got incredibly skilled or the rest just got really bad.

And we deserved that spot, we won all our matches except NL. I'm sure we would have won versus Portugal too. Too bad we will never find out since this was the last NC?

The maps in cup playoffs have always been announced on irc before the war by telling them to an admin or to each other in case there's no admin available. Dunno where you got the idea that suddenly the map in challenge would matter? Definately was no reason to launch a flamestorm at us when you joined the server. Funny that we were expecting to play scope/salsa and then you end up being the ones changing your map to blister well after starting time while flaming us for "changing" ours just minutes before.

Gotta love the fact that you guys have to stall for 30 minutes on the server by argueing that a neutral server with equal pings is not fair and that playing on a .de server is the best option for a war between a german and a non-german team. I guess some things or some people never change in this game.

Anyway the war itself was over quick. Well deserved victory for germany. The skill & competition in this game is indeed gone a long time though. I myself played this game 3 or 4 times in the last 4 months, I had zero aim yesterday and yet I managed to top about 3 out of 4 maps with a decent score. We managed to beat france like this and I'm sure even with this activity I could beat an active .pt team.

Also thanks to AlienX for the streaming. I guess not many people watched it and this initiative came a couple of years too late, but thanks for making the effort

I never knew we changed our map to Salsa in the last 10 minutes. If we did, then beardy didn't tell us or you are lying.
As for the server.. you must be joking right? Pings were almost equal and it was hosted in the netherlands. It's the fairest thing to do.
