| Interview with BigBosS | |||
Hello BigBosS, a pleasure having you in our competition. Tell us a little bit more about yourself? |
![]() Nick name: BigBosS Real name: Nicholas Age: 20 Country: USA |
||
It is a pleasure to participate in your competiton. I am an American bunny tracks player and have been
playing bt for about two years now. I have been playing unreal tournament for about five years now and have
found bunny tracks to be the most enjoyable mod.
(dont bother with the caps in my name i honestly dont care rofl)
Ok Bigboobs, as an american player what brings you to the european scene?
The european scene is where all the action is at. When I started playing bt two years ago i came upon some
of the more populated usa servers (TDN, UTA, The Server of Mastery) only to find the servers either full of
trolls or semi-admin abusers. I stuck with Mastery for the majority of the time but then decided to expand
my horizans and ended up in the euro world of bt.
It is generally a better and more active community but it is still possible to find me on the USA servers every now and then.
Are you excited about playing in your first 1v1 cup? What are you looking forward to and what may be a damper on your fun?
I am quite excited although its not necessarily the 1v1 factor that is the stimulate. I am just purely
excited to be able to participate in a bunny tracks cup again especially after the cancelling of this past
spring cup. I am looking forward to the fun in competing again, and the appearance of some old players who
we all though had left the bt scene.
The only factor that could put a damper on my fun is the maplist, but looking at past maplists of the 1v1
cups and the past maplists that you and chupa have picked out as supervisors, i really am not worried about
the maps that will be used in any of the three divisions.
Is there anything you'd want us to expand upon, be it coverage or new features to make this cup more
exciting, thrilling, memorable
Well you are asking this question to the wrong player. I have only participated in two bunny tracks cup (a
nations cup and an open cup), so i have no idea what was implemented in previous cups and whether these
implements were beneficial or detrimental to the overall cup experience. A little more livestreaming would
be interesting, but the manpower to do that is a whole different story.
Perhaps a match for pure entertainment would be fun. I believe these are referred to "show matches" and
another name that escapes me at the moment. Basically a match that is not within the normal cup that people
would still enjoy watching and hearing the results of. For example i know Niko is still around (just not
playing ut), and i heard kman comes back for the summer.
If you could get a match of that caliber going, people would be pulled into the cup more. Many people would
love to see a match of that skill being displayed. This could also work maybe with admins (ie face vs medic
although that will never happen). Purely the match is just for entertainment and to pull the community
closer together. Then again this would be highly complicated to pull off.
Very nice idea there, though as you say hard to implement, but some thought will go into this! So we can
assume you're a newschool BT player, it is always interesting to know which are your favourite maps and
mappers?
| |||
Favorite Maps (in any order): 1. Bioshock 2.Ocarina of time(i like hv better but ez is fun too) 3. Behind
sunrise 4. Uncommon 5. Little Big Adventure
Favorite Mappers (in any order): 1. Drunklove 2.Shadow man 3. Bloeb 4.Jtwizzy 5.Jomax
I would also like to add that although a lot of mappers and maps do match up on my lists, there are a few
that do not. This is because there is different criteria (imo) for a favorite map and a favorite mapper. A
bad mapper can come out with one or two great maps, but in order to be a great mapper the majority of your
maps must be enjoyable to play. I may not have listed a drunklove map for example as my favorite, but i can
not think of a single drunklove map that i will not play for hours. It is just that none of them are the
"greatest" for me. Of course this is all opinion.
Other than BT do you have any other hobbies that maybe give us an insight into why you became so attracted
to BunnyTrack? | |||
I was a competitive swimmer for sixteen years. This is basically the same thing as bt (the newage rushing
version of bt as some will call it), and that is to accomplish your goal in the least amount of time
possible. I was a sprinter when I competed. I competed from the ages of four to twenty and was trying to
qualify for the USA olympic trials up until March of this year. I gave it up because
i decided school was much more important and would take me much further ahead in life (although i still
play ut ).
My new hobby that I have decided to take up is speed running video games. I have about five games on my
list that I am currently working on that i wish to beat world records in. I think you can all see how this
is compatiable with my addiction to bt. It is practically bunny tracks but the maps are hours long instead
of minutes. | |||
So I heard you like luck/skill dodges why do these attract you and which do you think is the proper phrase
used for this phenomenon?
I have always had some weird luck when it comes to these dodges. When i first started playing on Mastery I
would find that Canon, Anghelllic, Klepto, and the other better players who played there would destroy me
in every map, but would have great difficulty getting through some of the dodges in maps like Little Big
Adventure and Paldors Playhouse. I (for reasons im still not sure of) do not have
as much trouble as other players do when encountering these dodges.
I believe that there is SOME skill involved in these dodges. There are better angles for some dodges, and
some "luck dodges" can be achieved with more success based on the distance you are from the ramp when you
dodge. However I personally have never found a 100% way of accomplishing luck dodges. If these dodges were
based soley off skill then somebody would have found a way to complete these
dodges in a decent amount of attempts. By "attracted to them" I am guessing you are referring to my records
on i4games where the majority is made up of maps with these dodges. Really i just wanted to tighten up the
records. Although I understand that perfect runs are hard ( i do not think i have accomplished a single
luck dodge map perfectly), some of these records were a minute slow.
The only maps with luck dodges i can say i enjoy are little big adventure and paldors. The rest of the luck
dodge maps that i have attempted to rush or have the record to you will never see me playing for fun.
