1on1 UT BunnyTrack Cup 2012

Rules Update!
by: Supervisors
We are very proud that this cup is the first BT cup where almost all matches are being broadcasted. However, broadcasting at such a large scale also brings in problems as the rules we were using with regards to broadcasting were very limited. In order to smooth things out we have therefore updates the rules and added a special 'Broadcasting' section to the rules. Check out the new rules inside this news item.

The new broadcasting rules are as follows:

5. Broadcasting

1. ClanBase reserves the right to broadcast every match. This can be done with online game broadcast tools for spectating purposes. The recording of such broadcasts can't be refused by the players. In many cases ClanBase will allow or ask third parties to broadcast the matches. Spectators may never be charged.
2. Broadcasters are appointed by the Cup Supervisor. If you want to become a Broadcaster, use the Admin Signup link in the cup menu and sign up there. You will also be required to supply further information such as evidence of your experience. Someone who is not (yet) appointed as a Broadcaster may broadcast a match only if both players are made aware of this and agree with it. Anyone who falsely pretends to be a Broadcaster will be banned from ClanBase.
3. When multiple broadcasters have signed up for one match the supervisor decides who may broadcast the match.
4. A broadcaster may appoint one co-commentator who will help commentating on the match. More than one co-commentator may be allowed only if both players agree.
5. It is the responsibility of the referee to check if the broadcaster and co-commentator are ready so the players can start the match. It is under no condition allowed for either the broadcaster or co-commentator to join the server while the match has started. Failure to do so will result in a yellow card.
6. A match may only be broadcasted if there is a referee available, if there is no referee then the broadcaster or co-commentator must act as referee or the match may not be broadcasted.
7. The broadcaster and co-commentator have one minute to join the server after a map switch. After one minute the players are free to start the match and do not have to wait any longer for the broadcaster or co-commentator to join. Matches may not be delayed due to a broadcast.
8. The broadcaster and co-commentator are not allowed to talk in the server during a match.

The first rule was moved from section 1 to this section. Additional to these rules we have edited the following rule:

11. Serversettings

7. Games are played with the following default settings:

  • Specslots: 1, 2 or 3 for the admin, broadcaster and co-commentator respectively if available
This should solve most of the issue. For any questions regarding the rules do not hesitate to contact the supervisors.

Most broadcasters are admins too and you can only refuse admins on certain grounds (should the same apply to broadcasters too?) so there's no difference really.

And kvn made a good point, something I was thinking of too. If another player wants to see your tactics he/she can just request demo and see them there.

TBH, I don't see what the problem is. Chupa and Co are trying to make this cup as entertaining as possible and broadcasting is a great way to achieve this. Embrace it before it's too late

Of course safe! I'm not saying I don't like. But I know people who don't like and I guess they shouldn't be prejudiced because of it. It causes nerves! But yeah, I enjoy the commentaries and the (sometimes) nerdgasms xD

Maybe you got tricks/sc's other people don't know, and you do not want others to know?

It used to be forbidden for other players to spectate because of that, whats the diff with bc'ing?

If players don't want there match to be broadcasted it shouldn't be broadcasted imo.

If you got a request of uploading your demo, you can't refuse that. Which will be public. But happens very seldom in BT from what I know.

In my point of view it's not that with the sc, but if one suffers with too much nerves + broadcast can ruin their match, I dunno. I don't mind but I think we could choose.

and if one does a bad exhibition for instance, he can be made fun of because of the broadcast. Not saying, it has got it ups and downs. It's good for the interest I know and I want BT alive!
