Welcome

ClanBase would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the New Year and thank you for your support in the past. We hope you will keep enjoying the site in 2007 and for many years to come.

If you for some odd reason haven't visited the ClanBase site in the last couple of weeks you should know that we have implemented a new log in system. Read on for the full announcement.

ClanBase Announcement

ClanBase is proud to announce the development and implementation of a new login system for our users. Our current login system has served its purpose since the websites launch in 1998. However it is now antiquated and will be retired from service, in favor of a more secure and easier to use login system.

Logging into ClanBase is a breeze
Logging into ClanBase can't be any simpler with the new system. No more pop up boxes which require your 'pid' (Player ID). Instead you log in with your email address and password.

You can choose to save your login details for future visits to the site when prompted during your initial login, or using the account settings page.

Another feature of this new login system is a log out option which you can find in the tool bar. Again increasing security, especially on shared computers.

Troubleshooting
If you don't know the password for your account, you can use the new password reset page. A new password will be generated and mailed to the email address registered to your ClanBase account. If you don't know the email address you used to register with ClanBase, you can use the find players page to see which email address you have registered to your account. The FAQ explains how to fix a missing or invalid email address:

"If you do not have a valid email, please make a post on the help desk forum. Include in that post: your (new) e-mail address and your ID (pid). Then ask your clan leader to reply to that message (logged in) to confirm your new email. If you are the clan leader ask a trustee or two clan members to reply to the message."

QID's a thing of the past! The 'QID' is the unique encryption of your user name and password. When users log into ClanBase, a 'qid=' parameter is added to the page URL, letting the page know who the user is logging in as.

Good news! The new login system no longer relies on QID's for authentication. It will no longer be possible to accidentally give someone else access to your account by pasting a URL with your QID in it.
