Welcome

Welcome to this important edition of the ClanBase Newsletter, where, if you haven't already read about, we will give you details of the prize funds for this years EuroCup, as well as the amazing prize fund we have on offer for the Crysis OpenCup! Finally we have details of the Digital Games and much more!

EuroCup and OpenCup Prize Fund

ClanBase, in cooperation with GameStop and SteelSeries, have a good lineup of prizes on offer for you, with over €6000 in prizes for the EuroCup and a grand selection of hardware for the OpenCups.

Everysingle EC will be getting a prize, for the team or individual that finishes in first place (and 2nd/3rd for CoD4/UT3). The prize for this team will come in the form of vouchers, of a value of €125 per player in most of the cups, to be spent at GameStop.

The vouchers will be distributed as follows:

Call of Duty 2 S&D €625 Fifa '08 1on1 €125
Call of Duty 4 S&D €1000 Unreal Tournament 3 1v1 €200
- 2nd prize €400 - 2nd prize €100

This is not everything, as the OpenCups this year will be sponsored by SteelSeries and there are a number of hardware prizes that will be given out to various different OpenCups. These cups will be determined once the signups are finished

Crysis OpenCup

We are proud to announce the first ClanBase Crysis Open Cups will be sponsored by InCrysis, the world’s number one fan site for Crysis, in association with NVIDIA, Alienware and EVGA with some great prizes to be won.

An Alienware Area-51 7500 Desktop PC is the prize for the winner of the 1on1 Instant Action Cup , whilst the winners of the 5on5 Power Struggle Cup will each win an EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS Graphic Card. The person who wins the ‘Player of the Tournament Award’ will win an Alienware Area-51 Notebook.

There is still a chance to signup to all the cups, including the Sponsored Crysis cups. So if you are interested in winning any of the prizes mentioned above, then please SIGN UP NOW. You have until Sunday 9th March at 23:59 CET to save yourself being disappointed. Click the image below to signup now!

New Ladders

Along with the recently announced Spring OpenCups we have also opened a few more new ladders for our popular new games. CoD4 received four new regional ladders for Poland, Scandinavia, Spain and Italy due to successful ladder petitions. With the release of ZeroPing mutator for UT3, two new Insta CTF ZeroPing European ladders were created.

This brings the total number of ladders for Call of Duty 4 and Unreal Tournament 3 to 43 and 14 respectively. As you saw from this article, Call of Duty 4 is becoming more active everyday, and we hope that these ladders will give you even more chance to play CoD4, as well as all your other favourite games, right here at ClanBase.

Digital Games

As we recently announced, ClanBase’s mother company, GGL, will be running the opening event for this year’s Olympic Games. In a massive event that’s been baptised “The Digital Games” the whole world will find out what eSports is all about. You can read the official press release here.

You, the fans, can help decide which games will be selected for this tournament. All you need to do is sign up at the Digital Games website and post a comment stating your games of choice on the forums.

If you’d like to find out more about the Digital Games go here or check out this interview with GGL’s CEO, Ted Owen.

CBTV

ClanBase is testing a new embedded video player; The Husky player. The Husky network, part of the Heavy Corporation is a company providing video hosting services, who have been on the market for some time. Their player, informally known as the Husky player has a wide variety of interesting features...

One of the advantages of this player is the way you can switch from movie to movie with a simple click. You can play the clip on full screen, and the loading time should be decreased to virtually instant loading, since the servers hosting the clips are located in Europe. We're interested in collecting your feedback regarding this player. If you have issues, comments, ways to improve or just any random idea, please write them here.
