I'm guessing that your ping would be about the same as when you join an american server.(ping about 200-250)
But as i live in NL i cant give you an accurate estimate.

You can get ADSL in major cities like J'burg but only WITHIN the city will you get ADSL speeds.
Rest is dial up or frame relay (fast in SA but EXPENSIVE!!)

The best will be 64k ISDN, or perhaps 128k like me, i am in a UK Desert Combat clan, and i play like a charm with no lag.
