Help setting new cod2 server

Reply | Hi there, a friend of mine intends to set a new cod2 dedicated server on a "sidekick" pc to join eu lads.
He asked me a few things, but I'm total ignorant, so I hope for luck here.
1) He's using linux on the pc he would use for the server: is this a problem? Does he need dedicated installers for pam, 1.3 patch or whatever?
2) Since he is doing this at home, he has no static ip. Is there a way to get a valid streaming on g-v.com someway or nothing can be done unless you get it static?
