HELP GAME IS FUCKED - JK - oOo.  - Fri 19 Mar 02:58

i try playing the game and nothing comes on not even a menu it just says retrieving version information then i lillte disk starts spinning on me mouse icon and nothing happens.
i have tried reinstalling it with disk selected and no disk selected updating drivers.... any clues???

i have a ati radeon 4870
duo 2.66ghz
2 gb of memory and my hard drive is big enough
o yeh and windows xp pro (service pack 3)

you can bypass the update checker by using one of the .exe found in the programs install folder. that might help

*edit* not sure which .exe it is though but i used one of them and couldnt play multiplayer because a patch was out and i didnt go through the updater so i didnt have the patch.

Hope it helps ya in some way.

Tried it no good i cant even get on the menu or anything litterally nothing happens so multiplayer and single player dont work becuase i cant get on the menu

it is possible that the game is using dx11 etc to run, so therefore XP wouldnt be able to run it, if you could goto C:\Users\YourUserNameHere\Documents\BFBC2Beta\settings.ini and open with a notepad etc and scroll down to Directx version and ensure that it =9 not auto/11.

this is one way that some XP machines didnt run the game, ill keep looking for ya though.

Can you also check in that settings.ini that the screen resolutions matches that of your desktop/monitor and ensure that BFBC2 Beta is uninstalled if you had installed.

and if that doesnt work only other solution im seeing is go into your Graphics cards control panel, Nvidia/CCC and ensure that its set to Application Settings not user settings.

Im sorry mate but i have no idea what all that means, if this is a log of the recent events when loading the game, then it outlines the problem, im just wondering have you emailed EA about this, i hear their chat option is rather good for things like this, that is if you wait the 15 misn or so to get connected to an operator.
