2nd Petition - To Infinity Ward

I’ve come to make a topic here because of a post made by one of the Clanbase Team on the FPSAdmin.com forums prior to the release of Modern Warfare 2 showing support for the game from your clan/members.
As we are very much aware Infinity Ward have yet to respond to the concerns and feedback of the PC Community about Modern Warfare 2. PC Gamers have come under a large amount of criticism for acting out with a petition in advance of the games release without knowing what it would be like.
Well now the game has been released and we do know what it is like. This is a call for anyone within the PC Community to show their support for a new petition entitled ‘Modern Warfare 2 (PC) – Post Release’. The idea behind the new petition is to show Infinity Ward (with a completely clean slate) that we do really still care about the issues and are providing them with the feedback that they need to do good by us.
The petition covers the need for:
- Support for an in-game console;
- Support for the “/record” feature;
- Support for the lean feature;
- Support for auto-balancing;
- Support for multiple profiles;
- Support for better Graphics and FOV control;
- Support for actual ping readouts in ms (not graphs);
- Support for a tournament game type (like Promod);
Dedicated Server/IWNet specific:
- Support for mod tools and modded Dedicated Servers;
- Support for Punkbuster enabled Dedicated Servers;
- Support for Dedicated Server admins to choose player numbers (Max: 50);
- Support for PC gamers to choose if they wish to connect to an IWNet P2P server or a Dedicated Server (hosted by clans/individuals, etc)
Many PC Gamers are starting to give up on Infinity Ward ever making good of their damaging changes to the community. My response to that, and hopefully yours, is “let’s give it one last shot”. Let’s unite as one PC Community!

Reply | Oh man, don't tell me that You really expect IW to make those changes??
This game is obviously not ment for way of competitive gaming as it's played on CB or other leagues... They want to have their $$$ income from this game as high as possible, wich is not so much possible with dedi servers & mod tools...
310 m$ in 1st day?! Blockbuster movies don't make that money =)
And also, PC Gamers like us are not their targeted customer, I mean, competitive & pro gamers, they aim @consoles & casual gamers... That's enough for them.
And also, those ONLINE petitions never made anything special, so ...

Reply | I think it's more about showing them that we can unite as a PC Community because we have a common interest in one of their games and don't want it to fail.
If they take no notice of a post release petition then it's going to be at their loss when it comes down to it.
I disagree they can still make money by running Modern Warfare 2 Dedicated Servers alongside IWNet. It's just the logistics of how to do it but it is very much possible to do so.
I've played the game (round a friends) SP is intense and good but short and left me wanting more. MP on IWNet is not good and not to taste. |

err thats what they have been doing after cod2...
cod games are terrible cod1 was ok cod2 was ok rest was ....
games with so many series always blow face it just like a tv show going on for years after years people know whats going on and pretty much can guess whats gonna happen people dont like it anymore
cod has great SP games cant get around that fact but the MP has gone from good to terrible |

No matter how much i want to play this game in the pro way, i have to agree with you! They just needed the money, and we are simply not their targeted customers. That's all.. no one will give a **** about what pro gamers want since we are the minority. But to be honest i don't even want those changes, except the /record function and the dedicated servers. Punkbuster was just a headache for me. Servers with PB were full with cheaters, while i was always kicked with handshaking and packetloss.. Im happy there's no PB anymore in MW2. Anyway, i also think online petitions and ANY petitions doesn't even worth the time to sign them. I have never seen any petition to make any change. But i also think it could be worth a try, since IW already got their money. After all they had to realise even steam system can be cracked and emulated, and even the warez version of MW2 can be played in multiplayer. Well ofcourse not on IWnet, but since this there is no good reason why shouldn't they put dedicated servers in the game. Personally i think it could even boost the sellings a lil bit. If we would tell this for IW, they might start to think about it.. otherwise if you go there with a petition like "we want this and this..." honestly.. they wont even bother to read it. |

But honestly im not expecting any changes. Couse THEY DONT CARE about clans or core players anymore. They care about money only (unfortunately). As they crippled the WoW to have more players to make the game easier for all morons and kids, the same is happening with COD. No lean, higher dmg, stupid match makings.....etc.
Still hoping that this petitton will make any changes. |

Reply | | Well the game is actually crap, if you play clanwar versus another country bit far away for example, belgium and Finland, you always have a big delay, sometimes i saw my bullets like 2 seconds later on impact. How does this come? 1 of the finnish guys were host... so it's fucked up. It only can work out on LAN. |

Reply | BTW there is already a hacked dedicated server for the game, where developer console is enabled, and admins can change whatever they want in the gameplay. My only problem with it is that the game doesn't have any cheat protection like this. No steam VAT, no IWnet, no PB, so i think these servers will be full with cheaters. However its possible to use it for CB..

The mods made for cod4-matches are just stupid. I think it's nice to remove perks but it makes no sense to take away the swaying when you run i.e. I can see why IW wants people to play the game as it is. The mods makes it so plain and simple... And what about red dot sight and other attachments, everyone may use it so it's totally fair.

Do you really think they add leaning?? They haven't developed that movement for the game, they wont go back fu**in up their engines or what you'll call it.

OK. Who doesn't hate Steam and Valve? I do, but VAC-secure iwnet-servers seems to work lot better than punkbuster did on dedicated. Not only eliminating cheaters but also the problems following PB. Playing Cod4 I guess everyone had some sort of trouble with PB.

Better graphics?
I think they are great and I also think thats way too much to change now...

Is actual ping readouts that important? You think that's a good thing to just throw into the petition so they more likely change everything? The graphs are a bit stupid but that's how they made it... (consolification)
I could have picked on more but ok...
I guess you're a gamer that have played a lot of matches and stuff like that so I can see why you want some of this but in this petition I don't think you should have had all of this, enough with the dedicated (totally agree) and promod (which I think is a reason why it's so few playing cod4 seriously). |
