Netherlands vs. Russia
| The following is going to be a small summary of the captains of these nations, they've shared some personal and team insights of their path and story of gaming and also of this competition. Let's start with kaum from Team Russian Federation: I started to play CoD4 back in 2008. I was new to the russian community, and I felt the way to reach my goals won't be easy. From a beginner I've pretty fast managed to turn in to a more advanced gamer and soon after I've reached my peak. The clans I've teamed up in my early stages weren't any spectacular, but it was anyway a good lesson and also a great opportunity to understand what competitive gaming is about, also I've met a lot of new supportive people who I call friends now. We have attended a lot of LANs and played quite a lot of decent online tournaments alongside of each other. After this experience I became the captain of the russian RAGE team. Apparently my doings have been recognized by the community and that's why they've decided to entrust me with such responsibility. Our current position in this competition is quite satisfying, but we will however keep on doing our best to become the number one. We aim to defeat Netherlands and advance to the Finals. We are focusing pretty much on this, train a lot, figuring out some progressive tactics and so on. We also support the decision of ClanBase regarding the use of UAC2. Since this anti-cheat still has not been bypassed it might help to eliminate possible threats, and it also isn't limited to any particular game. One of the cons of this competition so far is the alarming amout of no-shows. People have signed up for this but they don't take it serious at all, which in my opinion is a big shame. If you are lacking motivation why did you consider yourself to be a good captain and why did you signup for this in the first place? There are dedicated people out there who would like to take the opportunity to represent their nation in a game they love to play. Many captains in this season gave up even before it started, I doubt that any of those even tried to find a replacement for themselves. Our path since the beginning until now wasn't really hard, but the matches we have played we really enjoyed. The match against Team Sweden and Team Portugal was fascinating. The community would have deserved to see such intense action between such well composed teams. As for example in the representation of Team Sweden have played such great players like qLimAxzU and miRACLE from H2k-Gaming. I'm quite disappointed that ClanBase and the video coverage partners didn't manage to stream any of the interesting matches. This is definitely something that would have to be reconsidered for any future cases or next seasons. We would like to wish Team Netherlands the best of luck for this upcoming match and also to thank ClanBase this way for this opportunity.
When the captains were announced back in january, I have to admit I was suprised I was the chosen one, and apparently it wasn't just me who was wondering. The majority of the dutch community was upset, as they didn't believe I could possibly progress very far in this competition. I was rather a stranger to my native community since I was mostly playing alongside of british and german players. But here we are, in the Semi Finals and not just by no-shows. We have been through some tense matches against Team Poland and Team Denmark. We are quite enjoying the competition so far, except the numerous no-shows, but we still hope in a successful Semi Finals and Finals. I've gathered my team via different ways. The first two players DummY and sp4zer I knew very well, then I've asked some guys who play in top teams if they'd fancy to support and represent their nation. This way I've recruited Safe and PatjEh. Hybrid, was a old CoD player who started to play again, he was doing quite good in the few games he formerly played. Due to my involvement to the Hardcore community I met Style, even though he was one of the first guys who thought I won't be able to reach any decent stage of this competition, we've teamed up.
