UT3 is not dead, the ictf cups are. Or at least when it's up to me. Don't want to hinder anything
& thx guys for the appriciation.
the discussion what ut is best or what direction the series should have taken is subjective. Personally I think it always got better (although 2k4 more of a triple A product than UT3, but I like the gameplay). But obviously a lot of people don't share that opinion ^^ |

With each new UT game they moved it further and further away from the original's blueprint and they got less and less popular because of it. For some reason UT is not a game series that attracts new players, so it needs to stay very similar to what the players like to keep them interested. UT1 has a lot of players, UT2003/4 added stuff in that a lot of people didnt like and so a fair chunk of UT players did not move to UT2003/4. Then UT3 changed again and barely any UT or UT2003/4 players would move and give it a fighting chance (which is probably more epics fault for releasing an alpha and taking months to make it retail worthy).
And now the insta ut3 cups have failed, ut1 insta cups are not far behind looking at things, looks like it's up to ut2004 to keep things alive. Wionder if they can keep going for another 5 year and catch up to ut1's run? |

good luck in cup ;*
This ain't funny man, at least respect my integrety and intellegence. All new clans are made in last week and the nationalities are fake as ALL the members ip-lock back to Slovenia.
Anyways the ladder is open for action, and Nodis will host a itdm 2v2 cup, maybe it works there. If you want to stimulate the community, host an iCTF 2v2 cup and get min 8 signups. |

I'm sorry for the slightly personal and dramatic post to those who feel uncomfortable with it, but it's probably the last time I'll have a chance to write one to the community.
For me a loooong struggle has come to an end. I have my critics but I pat myself and all those who helped on the back for keeping iCTF and UT3 in general going for years beyond predictions. Like I said in the post, now the community failed to reproduce itself even in 2v2 format, so while I ignored all the previous signals, this one marks the end.
Tbh the internal motivation is also not strong enough to stay stubborn and pull things. Most of my good players went inactive one by one. But it's better to be a have been than a never was
As a said there is still the ladder but as far as I'm concerned: I salute you all, both the allies and the foes. Good games. Peace out. |
