General Information

Bravado Gaming Events is proud to announce, alongside Roccat, PLuGG, ClanBase and Mweb Gamezone, that we will be hosting a Call of Duty 4 Promod Free For ALL (FFA) competition on the 24th of June 2012.

This means that you do not require a team to enter the event. This is an individual player tournament.
This event will be limited to ONLY 128 entries. The event will not take place if there are less than 128 entries on the closing date (20th of June)

To summarize everything before we proceed, the way the competition is going to work is that we are going to divide 128 individual players into 4 groups by a random draw.
The entrance is on first come, first serve basis. These 4 groups will each be assigned a server on where they will play and try progress to the next round.
Players will have 15 minutes to frag as much as they can, to score enough points in order to fall in the top16 within their group to progress to the next round.
This means there will be 4 groups of 32 players in each group to start of with.

The event will take place on Sunday the 24th of June 2012 with the first 128 people registered.

Before we continue, please be advised that registration is only for players living in South Africa unless otherwise stated.

All information regarding the event can be found on the Bravado Gaming tournament page here

What is COD4 Promod FFA?

The Free For All (FFA) format of the game is exactly as it sounds, a free for all massacre where each player on the server is out for himself/herself. You have no team mates, anyone else on the server can be killed by you regardless of the player model.

This is a "every man for themselves" game type. At the end of the time limit winners are decided by who has the highest scores.

Players earn points by killing other players (+5) or by getting assists (+3). Promod is a competitive mod used in call of duty 4. This mod can be downloaded from the server when joining and is not big at all.

Event Details, Format and Rules

The way in which the competition is going to work is that we are going to divide the first 128 registered players into 4 groups by a random draw.
These 4 groups will each be assigned a server on where they will play. (Remember, the event is limited to the first 128 registered entries, but this doesn't mean you should not register after 128 entries as there will be a waiting list)

Information on the server details will be made available to everyone days in advance before the event via mIRC channel, E-Mail, Bravado Website (under this tournament) and the event on the ClanBase website.

The maps chosen will be as follows:
Round 1: Broadcast Round 2: Overgrown Round 3: Pipeline Round 4: (This will result in a vote between 5 maps on which 3 maps will be played. You can find the poll here) View more information regarding the maps here Each round is 15 minutes. So what does this mean?

  1. You join the server If you are a registered player into the tournament, you can then find the information on the Round 1 post under this tournament. This information will include times, server details and additional information you may require.

  2. You get ready to frag Once in the server, the admin will notify everyone that the game is about to go live. When the game goes live you have 15 minutes to frag as many people as possible and gain enough points to finish in the top 16 and progress into round 2. The announcement in the server will be based on the time schedule that you see on this page, ready or not.

  3. Round end When the round has finished after 15 minutes, you will be required to take a screenshot of the score sheet in case of any problems arising afterwards. If you have finished in the top 16 with enough points, you will then follow the schedule on Round 2 and find the information on the Round 2 post under this tournament. (To take a screenshot, you press F12 in game, this automatically saves a screenshot to your COD4 folder in windows)
This process will continue throughout all rounds based on the schedule on this page. Below you can find a graphical representation of the number of people entered into each round, how many progress and where it ends.

The top 16 at the end of Round 1 from each group will progress to Round 2, where we will have 2 groups of 32. (Again, information on round 2 will be made via the ‘Round 2′ post)

The top 16 at the end of Round 2 from each group will progress to round 3, where we will have 1 group of 32. (Again, information on round 3 will be made via the ‘Round 3′ post)

The top 16 at the end of Round 3 will progress to round 4, where we will have 1 group of 16 players.(Again, information on round 4 will be made via the ‘Round 4′ post)

These 16 players will fight it out over 3 maps of 15 minutes on each map. (The points of the players are added over the 3 maps to give us our top5)

All players are required to take a screenshot, at the end of each round for your own safety and security. (F12 in game) If a player is caught cheating by the admin, this will result in an immediate ban from the event, and any other events (LAN OR ONLINE) hosted by Bravado Gaming, its sponsors and partners.

How do I progress to the next round?

It is really as simple as killing anything that moves that is not yourself. Get as many kills and assists as possible and you will rack up the points and find yourself on top of the scoreboard and progressing to the next round.
The top 5 players after 3 maps in the final round will be our grand winners.

They will be receiving some awesome prizes sponsored by Roccat (Peripherals), PLuGG (Bandwidth) and Bravado Gaming (Cash)

What if a player is missing when it comes to show time?

Round 1: If there are any individuals who sign up, and the number of entries have exceeded 128, they will be put on a waiting list. If a person is not in the server by the specific scheduled time, they will be replaced with one of the players from the waiting list.

We will contact the waiting player via the information they had supplied when registering in order to notify them immediately if a person is not on the server (This will work for Round 1.)

Round 2 onwards : If a player is missing in Round 2,3 or 4, we will contact the player who finished 17th in the previous round. The player that finished 17th with the highest score and the least deaths in the previous round will be able to take part in Round 2 onwards.

If a Round starts, and a player disconnects and does not return, the round will continue with one less player, or however many players disconnect. The same player is allowed to reconnect to the server. They will loose all points gathered in the time before they disconnected. This means they would have to start all over again, so make sure you’re not downloading any porn.

If the nickname is different or a different player joins while the game is in progress, you will be kicked from the server (You must use the nickname you used to register on the ClanBase event and the E-Mail sent to Bravado Gaming on the server)
